I don't know anything about Maldives...or even where exactly it is.
From what I know about North Korea, is the US had a hand in dividing the country North and South. Before that it was just Korea. Imagine if your country got divided North and South or East and West, and all the Christians could only live in one part?!
Also what happened with India and Pakistan which was partitioned into Hindu and Moslem majorities, but I don't know where the Christian believers went. The British did that. I don't know really why, something to do with colonialism, which did not always go hand-in-hand with missionaries.

i do not know about yemen. if i had to guess, i would say they are not a Christian country. maldives was a hot spot for the world's top models. all i know is san is the capitol of yemen & male is the capitol of maldives. there has been talk of the divisions you speak of here in the u.s.a. i do n't pay attention to india or pakistan.
A lot of Indian and Pakistani christians here in NZ. I pass by an Indian Orthodox church all the time. One of the biggest churches out my way was started by an Indian, although it seemed a bit weird to me and kind of run like a business, but I suppose each to their own.
I think it was Mother Teresa who popularised the Christian witness to India, but a lot of Christians don't recognise her because she was Catholic and apparently Catholics don't really count as Christians?

NZ I can't say if it is an official Christian country, but I do know some people used to called it Godzone.
It was because we used to have paradise 1/4 acre sections anyone who had the money or privelige could own. Not so now. Still its the Promised Land for anyone looking for a better life than the one they have now, esp for refugees coming from wartorn countries, if they can get here that is.

albania is largely atheist & or non-religious. haiti is hugely atheist. in fact, hatii has over $20,000,000,000.00nin gold in the mountains but they won't harvest it.
I know Christians who live in Haiti.
At one census count not that long ago Albania has about 6% of Christians.
This threads OP carries an article reporting countries with no Christians.

For those of us who don't click on you-tube videos did they say how they came about this list. Is it based on the latest Census or something. Not all census asks about your religion. Mostly they are interested in counting people for tax purposes...as happened with Jesus parents back in the day.

Here I think the next Census is going to be online so all those who don't have access to internet may not fill it out or be counted.
I do remember there being a religious question, and you can answer in anyway you like (don't have to tick a box) so I just put Christian or born again (didn't say what type or whether you attended church or not)
Some questions are a bit weird like asking if you are male, female , or non-binary ( a new one to me) and others are sort of standard are you married or single. Some you are never sure how to answer esp the ethnicity questions which lump people into different and separate categories, so you often end up picking 'Other'
I don't really like to say how much income I earn its like asking are you rich or poor? I mean how do you know. Or how much money is currently in your bank account? You sort of have to self-identify being a Christian like you can't say if someone else is a christian or not if you don't know them or what they personally believe. Some people say they are when others would say they are not according to their definition of what a Christian is. JWs or Jehovahs witnesses and Mormons would say they are Christians, as are people in sects like Gloriavale. While others believe faith is a personal thing and not anyone's business but between them and the God they worship.
If you identify as Jewish often its like you can't be a Christian as well, have to be one or the other. With Jewish people, esp men, they have a physical reminder (circumcision) to say they are.
There doesn't seem to be any badge identifying Christians like you don't have to produce your baptism certificate or anything. There is no official license.

speaking of that, my brother thinks our sister-in-law who is a staunch catholic, is going to heaven. she worships in a catholic way, says hail mary prayers & the whole 9 yards. he says she has a deep relationship with Jesus. oh yeah? if she has a deep relationship with Jesus, why is she catholic? if someone calls that a deep relationship with Jesus then what do you call a deep relationship with Jesus that born again Christians have?
I don't think a cult can keep those who God calls away from his grace.
If the SiL believes in Jesus,believes he died to save her,etc...after God called her into his grace, then God knows her.
And she is sealed and irrevocably Saved.

that's about saying anyone believe the way you want & you'll get to heaven. there's James 2:10 & John 3:33. she is not born again as John 3:5 teaches. i'm not saying i think she's not going to heaven, i'm saying there are doubts. John 14:6 teaches: "I am the way, the truth & the life. No man come to father except by Me". then there is Matthew 7:21 & 15:8 & 9.

I don't know that many catholics myself, so can't say, but I do know some come out of the Catholic church but still considered Catholic just 'lapsed' apparently it's OACAC ie. once a Catholic, always a Catholic.
And also, isn't the Pope Catholic? I'm sure he is.
I once interviewed for a librarian position in a Catholic school and they said I didn't need to be Catholic to work there. I didn't end up working there though. It was a boys high school and the girls one was just up the road from them. The girls one eventually needed a librarian but I didn't go for that one. Or I might have ended up in the convent.
The born again Catholics I knew went to a different church (not catholic) but then they enrolled their son into the Catholic school despite not agreeing with their teachings.

The catholic school as far as I know, have compulsory chapel times and different religious education, but its probably better than absolutely none except for voluntary lunch times than in the (secular) high school I attended.
I remember the primary school we had prayer everyday or at least once a week over the PA and we sometimes had Bibles in Schools for everyone. But I don't recall too much about the Bibles in schools teacher except I was naughty and didn't pay attention. We didn't have the Bible at home so I didn't know what they were going on about.
