I guess I shared this song here before but listening to this song makes me happy and sad (but not really that kind of sad feeling...just don't know how to describe it in English) 😊

I always liked The Who, and their solo efforts too! This song was on Pete's first solo release, Who Came First .:D


Parvardigar (released in 1972 which is why I have skipped over to this thread from the 80s .:D)

I'm glad he switched from Hindu inclinations to Christian and realized the true God. I also liked his 'My Generation' hit, another danceable song, but from the 60's. So interesting looking back at the songs & people we listened to back then, thx for the memories (another song title from way back lol).

I'm pretty sure I bought a Who song 45 as a birthday present for a girl in my class
who was having a birthday party I was invited to .:unsure::giggle:. I think it was Happy Jack?

She was turning ten... and it was probably right around the same time I bought a 45 of the Beach Boys'
Good Vibrations as a Christmas gift for my twin brother. I put it in a much bigger box with a rock LOL


Years (many years) later, one of my faves to sing at karaoke was Don't Worry Baby .:D

I'm a little partial to 'California Girls'😎 Also they have a song 'God Only Knows' same title as a For King and Country song. So fun to reminisce, have a good nite M!

I had not heard of Todd Rundgren until, I don't know, late 1990's to early 2000's? I first found a bunch of MIDI files of his music and I really liked them. I didn't hear these original songs as they were sung until I opened an account on YouTube in 2008. I always liked his melodies but the lyrics made them even better! This is one of my favorite songs from Todd Rundgren. It's one of the cutest songs I've ever heard!

I don't think I'd ever heard that one of his before .:unsure::).I know I had his LP, Something/Anything? ...
it was recorded in late 1971 and released in February of 1972. Some of the tracks: Hello It's Me; I Saw
the Light; It Wouldn't Have Made Any Difference; and Wolfman Jack among others (it was a double LP).

I looked up A Dream Goes On Forever and the song came from Rundgren's "Todd" album which was released in 1973. The song itself was then released as a single in 1974. I didn't have my own radio until I got it for my birthday in either 1976 or 1977 so that's why I didn't know about Todd Rundgren until much later.

I'm playing some of the songs right on YouTube from the album you mentioned and oh my goodness! I forgot how much I loved I Saw the Light! It's so good! But I don't want to post it right now because I want people to look at the two we already posted.

I've heard of Hello it's Me before but I didn't even realize that was him! I like that song too!

I really like It Wouldn't Have Made Any Difference a lot as well! He just writes the cutest lyrics!

Reading up on Todd now on wiki, and discovered this:

Rundgren began a relationship with model Bebe Buell in 1972. During a break in their relationship, Buell
had a brief relationship with Steven Tyler, which resulted in an unplanned pregnancy. Buell gave birth to
Liv Tyler on July 1, 1977. Buell initially claimed that Todd Rundgren was the biological father and named
the child Liv Rundgren. Shortly after Liv's birth, Rundgren and Buell ended their romantic relationship,
but Rundgren remained committed to Liv. At age eleven, Liv learned that her biological father was Steven
Tyler. According to Liv Tyler "...Todd basically decided when I was born that I needed a father so he signed
my birth certificate. He knew that there was a chance that I might not be his, but…" He paid to put her
through private school, and she visited him several times a year. As of 2012, Tyler maintains a close
relationship with Rundgren. "I'm so grateful to him, I have so much love for him. You know, when he
holds me it feels like Daddy. And he's very protective and strong." Buell's stated reason for claiming that
Rundgren was Liv's father was that Tyler was too heavily addicted to drugs at the time of Liv's birth.

I must admit that my favorite music artist of all time was Roy Orbison. In the early eighties many superstars of rock and roll came together to offer him tribute. Here they are in Roy Orbison's 'Black and White Night' celebrating Roy. And here is Roy's greatest hit from the 60's, 'Pretty Woman'. Watch for all the super stars in this video:
