Another one...RIP Dolly, passed @80 yo today🙏🙌💕💕💕
by all accounts, she was wrote about as a fine lady. i just found out she never has kids. i listened to her music once in a while. a quite fitting country voice she had. i once bought a box of records at a sale & in it was an unopened dolly record. i bought the record for a dollar & sold it for $133!

🎶 Just one more mornin'
I had to wake up with the blues
Pulled myself outta bed
Put on my walkin' shoes
Climb up on a hilltop
To see what I could see
The whole world was fallin' down, baby
Right down in front of me
'Cause I'm hung up on dreams
I'm never gonna see...
Lord, help me
'Cause I got my dreams
To remember the love we had...

yet another tune CarriePie that we learned & played! i wasn't generally attracted to mh's music but that tune i enjoyed playing.

I was playing that song early this morning. It resonates with me greatly.

Free was such a good band. Digs into the emotions.

"And by the way..."

The song began well with a catchy beat and making the most of two chords,
but the lyrics were merely okay, so I think about three minutes was long enough/would be better.
Do you agree?

no. the rhythm line is peaceful, smooth & relaxed which makes for the pattern to be lengthy without boredom. "i'm your captain" by gfr was another example of a lengthy tune that did not stray from it's attitude & remained in the mood of the tune. yes, lyrics aren't anything complicated or deep but the realization is that in most rock music, "less is more". that tune will always be 1 of their best.

I understand that "too much of a good thing" or "less is more better" is a judgment in the ear of the listener.

I wonder whether you would like my rather long song about Paul on the way to Rome. It goes like this:

How do you like/dislike it?

🎶 [Half] of my life is almost past
I think I've come to see myself at last
And I see that the time spent confused
Was the time that I spent without you
So, darling, be home soon
I couldn't bear to wait an extra minute if you dawdled...

Love this song, it's so beautiful but sadly, i had to seek out French fan video creations to find one i thought worthy. However, it does bring a wistful or happy smile to faces of similar aged people, when i play it on my much loved turntable.

The French fan video of it is first but also including the 2017 remastered video, i prefer the original but the remastered version is good too:
