1. Identify Behavior
- Be Honest

2. Take Responsibility for Behavior

- Admit it Exists
- You are Responsible for its continued presence

3. Trace behavior to the source

- Ask God to show you WHEN you were programmed to feel or act a certain way
- Low self-esteem, feelings of rejection, helplessness all have roots.
- These behaviors lead to habits that weaken self-concept

4. Forgive yourself/Forgive others

5. Renew your mind with God's word

- Know God loves you
- Receive strength & hope

4. Forgive yourself
a. I feared rejection as a child due to siblings dislike. I carried that through to school and maintained a low self-esteem, sometimes on purpose. This in essence, led to more rejection because of pent up anger.
b. I allowed others to abuse our friendship so as not to lose their friendship.
c. I failed to be assertive when I should have to avoid conflict/in hopes to maintain friendship/relationship on an even keel.
d. I failed to confront the issue/ignored the ‘red flags’.
5. Renew your mind with God’s Word.
a. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Dearest Father,

I realize I have allowed these behaviors to manifest in me since childhood and failed to recognize the true responsibility for my behavior. Help me to strengthen myself in order to manifest a change pleasing to you and comforting to me.

Amen
