Father, preserve Your Bride upon the narrow way. Set a hedge about us against every spirit and practice that would draw us towards the wide gate of division—envy, strife, pride, contention, wrath, suspicion, contempt, and the defense of always being proven right.
Keep us fully persuaded before You, humble toward all; vigilant against our foe, steadfast in truth, yet gentle in correction; discerning without undue suspicion, zealous while refusing bitterness, and willing to be taught without surrendering conscience.
Let the fruit of Your Spirit govern every difficult conversation, Guard Your people from striving over matters that become unprofitable and vain, and cause us instead to pursue what makes for peace, gentleness and mutual edification.
