Hey Everyone! =)

So, I wanted to come here and talk about resources that helped me while I was dating, being single, and so forth. I think they are helpful in any time in your life. Great books and I hope you check them out. I also found them pretty cheap on Amazon, and of course free at The Library.

The first book is called Left At The Alter By Kimberley Kennedy.

The basic description of this book is
-How not to let rejection define you.
-Tools for healing and moving on.
- How to shape your future story.

This book really changed how I looked at the relationship from a Women's perspective. How the tears we cry at night affect us, how we can take those tears and move on, and how we can potentially save ourselves heartache.

Last note on this book is that this book spoke briefly about what we can do if we feel God calling us to not get married. Maybe hold off on relationships. Some of us women, may feel that way, whether by our choice or by God's choice. Here is a part in the book that I loved most, taking that into consideration. It says-

"Kimberly, if you want a husband pray for a husband. God will either give you a husband, or change your heart and take away your desire."

Second book I am going to talk about is a less talked about book, but it gives an awesome rebutle ( Bad spelling sorry ) to the famous book, "I Kissed Dating Goodbye." This book is called, "Boundaries in Dating." By Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend.

Side note- I am currently reading I kissed Dating Goodbye, and I would love to share my thoughts about this book in the future. =)

So I kissed Dating Goodbye is basically ways to avoid Sexual immorality hardship, confusion and so on that comes with dating. It suggests skipping the dating altogether, and remaining friends with whomever you decide to marry. Or courtship style.

In the book, Boundaries in Dating it talks about setting boundaries in dating, but still dating. He says in the book, that dating other people, helps you learn what kind of a person you want to marry. It gives you lists of things to ask yourself, while you are with someone for example-

1) Is this the person God meant for me?
2) Are we Spiritually Compatible?
3) How do I bring God into the relationship the "right way."
4) How do we relate spiritually?
5) What if we disagree spiritually?
6) Am I in denial about spiritual conflicts we might have?

Things like this are found throughout the book, I strongly suggest buying it, as I have highlighted, many sections of this book.

My favorite thing about this book, is that it gave me so many tips for really any situation you may find yourself while dating, or thinking about dating.

I really hope I helped someone, and if you need prayer or someone to talk to, I would sure love to talk with you! Message me anytime. God Bless Sisters and Brothers in Christ.

I query this.

"Kimberly, if you want a husband pray for a husband. God will either give you a husband, or change your heart and take away your desire."

I'd love to believe this, but I'm not sure if it is a biblical idea - we do know that God won't allow us to be tested beyond our limits, but I'm not sure exactly what this means in regards to marriage. Open to thoughts...
