When we first come into this world, we are set on a path. We cannot see the end, for it is much to long. As we walk this path, we my find people who will walk the road with us. Some of these people may be here to keep us company along the way, or to hinder us.
These people may help us along the way. If we slip, they help us stand. There comes a time, however, when these people will have to go back to their own road, to walk their own path thru life, and leave us alone, once again.
The road is long, and is in many places overgrown and bumpy, and seems to throw everything it has at us. Vines tangle out feet, boulders block the way, and bears threaten to tear us limb from limb.
And the road can also be very fruitfull, and easy in places. The sun shines down in glory on us, and lush grasses and lakes feed our soul.
When we finaly reach the end, and we see peace and paradise before us, we look behind at the long, and lonly road that we have taken. And we see the one person who has always been with us, when the others left. And we realize, then, that we were never truly alone. That when we stumbled and fell, it was that freind's hand that kept us from falling into the dark waters. That kept us from falling off the precipace that was sin.
As we look behind, back to the road, we smile. For it is over.
The long road fades from our sight. And soon all our troubles are soon forgotten.

Good thought. I find when it comes to people coming along side I used to be afraid of losing them.. afraid of being alone. but then, in time I think you get used to it. And yet, your never alone truly, are you. Not when you have the Lord.
