A look at 1 Kings 2:1-12 and Matt 22:1-23:39. Is there a message for us?

1 KINGS 2:1-12

King David is on his deathbed and calls his son Solomon, and tells him “What it is to be a MAN!” so here's the truth to all “macho guys out there who just THINK they know what it is to be a real man. Melech David tells the truth through the Holy Spirit who guides his words;

” Keep the charge of YHVH thy God, Walk in HIS ways, Keep HIS commandments as they are written in the Torah, SO THAT, you may prosper in ALL you do."

So, there you have it, what it is to be a man, (or a woman) of God, Trust in Yeshua as LORD and Savior, Depend on HIS righteousness through his blood and sacrifice on the cross of Calvary, which will lead us to a right relation with HIM and with his written word, to put into practice as our way of life. But always remember that salvation is through FAITH, and by FAITH only, and never depending on works! (mitzvoth) the “works” are an “aftermath” of our faith experience.

God has called all of us into existence for different purposes. Some are called to be professionals in different fields, and others are called into full-time ministry. No matter where HE has placed us, we must remember to "Keep the charge of the LORD thy God and walk in HIS ways. It may be difficult in some places, and challenging when faced with scoffers, but it is what we must do. Noah did it. Enoch did it. Abraham walked away from his father's idol business and his home in Ur and in Haran.

God will make our "doings" prosperous. What is "prosperity?" One could say that "prosperity" is being supplied with all that we need to live our lives on this earth, economically, in health, and in spiritual matters. We must remember that our actions as believers on this Earth will determine our rewards in Heaven. Let us occupy our lives with "Keeping the charge of the LORD thy God and walking in his ways." That is our main calling no matter what our earthly profession might be.

MATT 22:1-23:39

Yeshua tells the story of a king who invites guests to his son’s wedding feast. Yet those who were invited did not show up, so he called others, who DID attend the wedding feast. He says that the “Kingdom of Heaven” is similar to that situation. He ends by saying; “Many are called yet few are chosen.

How do we relate that to ourselves? We are part of the human race. The perfect will of Adonai is that ALL come to repentance and accept the gift of “Yeshuah” (Salvation) which was provided through “Yeshua” (no play on words). The gospel message has gone out to all, that means ALL people on this planet called Earth.

The great Wedding Feast of the “Son” is in the making. His bride is in the making. Yet many do not heed the calling, they are those who love the world and love darkness, these are the lost and unsaved people of humanity. We ask how can one refuse such an invitation. Perhaps because the things and enjoyments of this world are too appetizing, and they would rather live for the moment, instead of eternity’s bliss.

Then some DO accept the wedding invitation. Those of us who accept will be part of the wedding feast. We are part of the bride, the “Kehilah” the “Adat” (Congregation of the redeemed). No matter what name a church is called by, we are all part of “One Assembly” We are all part of “B’nei Elohim” (sons of God) including women too.

There is mention of one who was not properly dressed for the wedding, yet in ancient times, those who did not come with wedding attire were usually provided clothing by the bridegroom, so there is no excuse for not being in proper attire.

Yeshua also talks about our relationship with others in heaven. Specifically, our marriage partners. Unlike on earth, where we relate with our partners both emotionally, sexually, and spiritually, in heaven, it will not be so. Of course, we will recognize each other, but we will be like “brothers and sisters” since our “Husband” will be “Yeshua.”

There is the question; “What is the greatest commandment?” Yeshua quotes Deut 6;

“You shall love Adonai your God with all of your heart, soul, and strength” and He adds “and love your neighbor as yourself.”

This is interesting. The word “Torah” in gematria adds up to 611. "Tav, Vav, Resh, Hey" (Spelling out the word using Hebrew Letters) and when we add this Commandment in Deut 6, and “love your neighbor” these are “2”, when we add “2” to “611” we get “613” which are the total amount of commandments in the entire Torah (first 5 books).

To make it very simple, the whole Torah is condensed to “loving God” and “loving your neighbor” That is the gist of ALL the commandments. Our love and devotion to our God, and our love and respect towards our fellow man. Guess that includes animals. He made the animals and we need to respect and treat them also with loving kindness because they are part of Elohim’s creation.

The wonder and beauty of God's creation; the sky, water, sun, and mankind.

Is this stated in the bible anywhere, or is it just Jewish tradition?

I think here

Authorized (King James) Version

Gen 12:1-3

Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: and I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: and I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

  • Genesis Rabbah
    The midrash Genesis Rabbah chapter 38 tells the story of Abraham's early life, including how he opposed his father's idol shop.

So it's tradition.

Just the same as many things are traditions, many flawed, as I am spurred to speak, mainly to me, Thanks for the spurring
So here I go out on a limb again to trust God no matter what, God loves us all, unconditionally, which amazes me and I see to just love all in the same love and mercy given me, No traditions for me
Just seek truth and trusting God for it, and get it as God does not ever lie ever, we the people do and have and still do even when saying we believe God, I am in need for God's mercy always, and am in thanksgiving and praise for being given it forever in thanksgiving to God not self or any other human. Given up the "Me" for the love of God who won.
Christ the risen has broken tradition, yet people will not let go, that began to be broken up when Jesus showed up on earth as human born of woman, not man. So those in the lead then got him killed over job security, since no one wanted their advice anymore, all wanted Jesus, so man has gotten tradition in the way. All is left up to believe or not believe, in the risen Son for them to be new and not be alive to the first born flesh they were first born in anymore, Now Born new in God's Spirit and Truth, The Holy Spirit, reckoning this as truth daily as one continues here on earth in the flesh as dead, yet alive to God in God's Spirit
The disciples had a hard time to let go of tradition. Paul did not as he learned new from God Father of the risen Son Jesus, personally. He did not go to them or any flesh for any advice, did not care, was not under people control, or care what they thought says so in Galatians.
No contact with them, the flesh and blood, for 14 years
Paul saw to let it go his first birth of traditions, Phil 3, and I see it is hard for me to let go what I got taught here on earth. Must do, should have done, better make it better next time or else? Sundays, Having to do to get, is not good for anyone's soul, at least mine, no wonder people rebel and the rebelling is not against God (yet viewed as is) it is against those people trying to control other people When from God we are given freedom to freely choose and be freed.
Making anyone work for anything, creates an "I" deserve to get it
When truth is no one does, this is a gift to have gotten given from God, through the risen Son, not the death ever, that Was to fulfill Law once and for us all, to be made alive in his risen life by belief only. Man has added works.
I choose to love, I choose to have Mercy, I choose to help, I choose God over it all, anyone else want this freedom?
Amazing it is, a gift, believe, see and be freed, read the Epistles in whole to know the truth of the errors., people using verses to make things what they want them to be, Read the entire Chapter, trust Father to reveal the truth and not be traditional anymore please thank you and be freed to love all in God's truth for you too, thank you
he went to that cross for us all, not a few ALL y'all
