Shour can't post to CC from work, so he emailed this to me and asked me to post it for him.
Shouryu said:My reading routine got disrupted yesterday. My normal order is Gospels, Pentatuch, Major Epistles, Minor Epistles, Poetry, Wisdom, History, Prophecy. With the disruption, the first thing I read this morning was Titus 3.
"Remind them...to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to men."
Sometimes the Spirit just has to hit me over the head with a baseball bat.
I went to bed last night, and the Spirit would not let me sleep. The last time that'd happened, I'd blown up at Ed (GreenNnice) for no good reason. And I knew at that point, I went over the line when I responded on Cyphercat's thread last night. So, I got out of bed and went right back to the thread to apologize, and ServantHood had rightfully called me out. He said all the right things; I had been so blinded by my own assumptions that I had completely missed the point that Cypher actually was saying many of the same things I've been saying to people throughout October to December. He and I are in agreeance. But I read the first two paragraphs, and instead of seeing the passage as a whole, I had a knee-jerk reaction, and went to town.
Upon some self-reflection, I see that I've let a modicum of frustration take root in my heart, and it has clearly grown. It has grown to the point that I am not always reading the things that people write here with a cleared mind and a loving heart. This is not acceptable, not if I am to love and support as Christ would have me do. The whole time I've been yelling at people to stop focusing on their singleness and focus on Christ, I've been focused on feeding the frustration rather than doing things the right way.
It's common for the vets here to take short sabbaticals to...reset their minds or whatnot...In my time here, I haven't done so, and it's probably time. So I am going to step back for a little bit. Not even going to lurk...just, instead, focus on realigning my own attitude towards other Christians who are struggling with singleness. I think I've forgotten how much it helped to have the support of the contented singles here for me to reach my own state of contented singleness. And while I am definitely here to socialize with others, I also need to remember that the reason we are here is to support each other, which is all Cypher was trying to do before I laid into him. I need to press the reset button.
I haven't been on the forum since posting my apology last night, and I won't be able to from work (which is why I am just going to email this to Gracie for her to post)...and if I'm going to go on a CC fast (as it were), there's no better time to start than now. So, I won't even hop on to see that this gets posted. I don't think I'm even going to log in to answer PMs. Understand that I'm just staying off of CC for a bit, not severing all ties, so those of you whom I've connected with on FB, you're always able to reach me if you wish; if any of you feel you really really really need to say something to me (even if it's to chew my face off for that stupidity from last night), you can pass the message through Gracie or Aimee, whom I speak with almost daily.
I really do love all you guys, because you've become like another family to me. Unfortunately, it's easiest to become jaded and blunt with family, because you trust and believe that ties like that can be abused and survive. But we all know that that's not necessarily the case. I love you all too much to act like that. I'm sorry for how I acted last night, and I hope that you can forgive me when I return. Until then, I'm sure ServantStrike and Gracie will make sure that the occasional random pony image keeps you on your toes until I get back.
Stay in your Word. Devour it, my friends.
