They aren't even real petitions! There are repeats and constant misspelling. If there was a real petition, it would be better organized for each state. Furthermore, the states that are "petitioning" are too irregular there is no common reason for Oklahoma and New Jersey to BOTH secede at the same time.
But the point is, the act of secession is necessarily a hostile one.
It is done through warfare,- (the American revolution).

Shrimp, the main purpose for some, with the exception of maybe TX, is to tell the government that they've had enough. And they want to see some real changes, and what their concerns are.
TX, on the other hand is more likely to be legit then you know. What you may not realize is, there is a growing movement in TX to act upon a loophole that would allow TX to secede legally. This movement started in the 90's and seems to be growing larger today.

States do not have the "right" to secede, they can attempt it with violent force if need be, but there is no process, nor approval for such an action. The single special right Texas has is to divide itself into as many as 5 different states. If they did that 2 would be primarily democratic. At this present time Texas gets far more funds from the federal government than flows the other way to Wash. D.C. Texas has been dumbing down its text books for generations and it is currently producing only a few scientists but mostly producing ignorant but very religious devotees. Gov. Perry would become a laughing stock if he was kept as a leader of this new country.
