I came across this post from Joyce Myers on Facebook this morning and I knew I needed to pray this prayer for myself. I am angry at times, and I need to have more self-control. I wanted to share this in case anyone is going threw the same. I pray that I will overcome my anger and that God will heal and restore me completely, just like he will for anyone else who will pray this prayer.

A Prayer for Anger: "Lord, I am determined to not let the sun go down on my anger. I ask for Your supernatural grace in this situation and know You will give me the peace I need to practice self-control. Thank You for Your example, Lord. I know I'm not experiencing anything You haven't experienced Yourself, and I pray You will help me use my self-control to protect my peace. It's my desire to be like You, and this is a great opportunity for me to practice meekness, instead of acting like the enemy. Thank You for holding me to a higher standard, Lord. I pray that I would conduct myself in a way that would show me worthy of being Your child. Let the glory be Yours, Lord. In Jesus' name. Amen."

It depends as to why we're angry and if it would serve a purpose on how it's shown. Jesus had a bit of a temper on him, within the right reasons though. In this day and age if we were to flip tables then we'd be suspected of forgetting to take our medication, haha.

I'm not a fan of Joyce Meyer. I'll say that I tend to have anger problems as well. It's hard for me to control and sometimes the simplest things could set me off. It sucks. Thanks for sharing. :)

Peacebestill -

Got some good news for you. Since you are in Christ, His peace is there in you! A gold mine of peace is there for you to tap into any time you need to. When you begin to feel the urgings of anger, go inside and take hold of that peace, and rest in it until the anger leaves.

Got nothing to lose - except anger.

Anger is an emotion, given to us by our Creator....I think it isok to be angry at times.....but I also believe we have to control it in how we act, and react.....Anger can bring out the worst in a lot of people. When someone takes my Lord's name in vain, it makes me angry. Lot's of other things make me angry. And that is ok. It's how I act out that anger I think that makes the difference......just my opinion......God Bless ~~
