Here is a morning prayer for those of us whose faith is still a "work in process".
Hear my prayer, O God; listen to the words of my mouth. May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. O Lord, You are the God of all mankind. Nothing is too hard for You. You are all powerful. You control everything that happens on this earth. I acknowledge Your sovereignty and ask that You fill me with humility, now as I pray, and in my everyday life.
I sincerely thank you for all my many blessings. You have blessed me abundantly during my lifetime; many times when I did not even know it. I thank You for this day, and every day which You give me. Let me be a blessing to someone today, so that I may reflect Your love and goodness. Give me the opportunity to do good for someone today, and show me how to accomplish Your tasks on earth,
Fill me with your Spirit so that I can sincerely praise You and joyfully lift Your name on high. Please transfer what I know in my head to what I feel in my heart, so that I may truly experience Your love through Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. Help me to love you with all my mind, heart and soul, and allow me to reflect that love to all the people with whom I come into contact.
Lord Jesus, I sincerely want to know You better. Please come and dwell in my heart through faith. Help me to seek You with all my heart and show me the way to become an intimate companion. I want You to control my life, and influence everything I do. Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
Lord give me the courage to speak up on Your behalf. Fill me with Your strength today so that I can boldly profess Your love to everyone I meet. Let the words “God bless you” come forth from my lips, and help me to mean it in my heart. O Lord, open my lips and my mouth will declare Your praise.
Lord help me to avoid the sin of pride, for pride brings a person low. Fill me with the knowledge that everything comes from You, oh God, and that all my accomplishments are a result of Your love and mercy. Without You, I am nothing. Please help me to remember that every day of my life.
Guard my heart and mouth, Oh Lord. Help me to be slow to anger; and keep my temper under control at all times. Let no foul language pass my lips that dishonors You, and shows me to be a base human being. Let me show love and patience to everyone that I meet; and especially my own loved ones. Let me forgive as You have forgiven.
Lord God, please strengthen my faith today and every day so that I can learn to truly trustYou in all things. Increase in me the desire to do Your will in all aspects of my life, including tithing and giving. Give me the courage to step out in faith, knowing that You will provide for my family’s needs. I do believe; help me to overcome my unbelief.
