Unfortunately that speech can lead some people to believe that he supports segregation instead of gay rights. Although the point is made that the same arguments used to support racial discrimination have been used in prejudice against gays, There are still people out there who think that racial segregation is constitutional and this little demonstration might just encourage them in their arguments.
