This is a question that i would like to ask everyone, specially those who were raised in the church, and those who are born again, this is something that we all have been tought and many of us have said it out of our own mouths, what ever answer you give please give an explanation for you answer if you have scripture/s to go along with your answer please feel free to quote or give the book and verse of those scriptures, so the question is

ARE WE IN THE LAST DAYS?

Lets see...earthquakes suddenly increasing in both frequency and strength in the last few years..extreme weather happening (giant tsunamis, category 4 and 5 tornados, old volcanoes becoming active again)...Isreal (the promised land) re-established again as a country about 60 years ago after not existing for centuries...collapsing global economy (the eurozone crisis, unemployment in the US, rising oil)...Iran on the brink of having nuclear weapons....the denial of god's existence being taught in schools...

Nah...it doesn't look like we're in the last days at all.

No one knows when the last days will be here.
Humanity has never been perfect, there has already been WWI and WWII and the world did not end then did it? Not to mention the bloody battles before and after that. There are plenty battles/fights you can read about in the Bible. Just because there have been natural disasters lately that may be a little out of the ordinary, does not mean that we are doomed. The human race has already lived through a mini ice age... I think we have no way of telling when the "LAST DAYS" will be upon us but we can be ready for it. With faith, hope, and love for our Lord, we will be ready for anything.

Yes, the last days technically began after Jesus. Acts 2:14-21, for instance references Joel's last days scriptures while he is referring to a present day occurrence: the Holy Spirit at pentacost. He did so to explain what evidence was already occurring. I believe we have been in those last day for a long time. I don't claim to know how far alon we are. But they began a long time ago. If ou read the epistle scriptures that ak about the types of people we will see on the last days, they've been around a long time. And their influence is continuously increasing.
 
Yes the writers of the Bible spoke of the time they lived in as the "last days" and fulfillment of many OT prophecies. However people have redefined what "last days" means and they will disagree but if you refer to these scriptures you will see that its been the "last days" since pentecost, maybe even before since it says "in these last days" God spoke to us by His Son.

I grew up in the church that seemed to constantly talk about of the end of the world like it was year. And honestly, I don't feel it helped me out much. I remember going home after church crying because it scared me so much. So basically, I don't see the point on focusing on it so much. Life is short as it is, I would rather make the most of it while I'm here instead of focusing on the world ending. It takes away from life if you obsess over it. No one can know when the end of the world is, so I think it's just best to relax in the long run.
 
Yes, you are right Jordache; we are on the last days but we all do not know that exact time.

"But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only." - Matthew 24:36

God already said it; no man knows. People have been saying that they are "in the last days" since Jesus Christ's first coming; it always seems worse just because it's you living through the current times. You'd think that a superpower (Rome) occupying most of the civilized world would constitute living "in the last days", but no, obviously not. We are nowhere near that level of escalation currently... Oh, and people saying that there are terrible floods, hurricanes, etc., should remember that those are measured against history recorded somewhere around 100 years ago. It's been 2,000 years and more since Christ first came, so that is by no means conclusive evidence either. Whatever the case may be, we're one day closer than we were yesterday, and that's all that matters.

I'm not sure where there would be in the bible exactly, but my Mom has also told me that the end of the world it going to a peaceful time, not chaotic. Feel free to debate, because I am basing this off of hearsay.

Thanks! In June we'll have been married for 2 years, and we're having a baby girl in September! :)
