We know that God is totally worthy of worship and praise and we didn't deserve to be saved but he saved us regardless because of his love, grace and mercy etc. My question is would you still love God and worship him even if redemption was never in his plans? He would be justified in not saving us and it would actually be justice served as we know the wages of sin is death. Therefore he would still be worthy of worship and of our love but could you worship a God that didn't save you even though you don't deserve it? Would he still be Lord if eternal hell was your fate and there was no sacrifice to save you from it?

If he was like that he would be like all the mytholoy gods/goddesses and not our Lord and Savior! I believe their would be no written word if he could not save us what good will something that shows us who be worth anything

I don't think any deity that will send their worshipers to total ****ation without some type of mercy is worthy of worship and love in the first place.

One Jewish Pesach song says "God is good and it is enough for us", but Kelseybear has already written my oppinion. If it was so, He would be same like another gods and goddesses of any religion.

I disagree. He doesn't have to do anything to be the almighty soverign Lord. He just is. What I get from what you are saying is, he is only almighty because of salvation when he doesn't need things to be Lord God of all. And the bible says we did nothing to deserve the free gift of salvation which means we are totally undeserving of it and I don't agree that God would cease to be God if he had chosen not to save us.

Plus other God's offer their alternatives and equivalents of "heaven" so to the believers of these religions, their God's are offering them some kind of paradise also.

I don't agree that his sovereignty is dependent upon anything he does for us or doesn't do for us. He is God no matter what.

So in light of that, would you worship him still even though it wouldn't change his power and his glory if he gave us our due penalty for our sin?

I believe that way before He sent Christ into the world to atone for the sins of mankind, God was a loving and forgiving God. During the time of the Jewish exile, the Prophet Micah said, "Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy." (Micah 7:18) In the Book of Ezekiel, God Himself said, "'Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked?' declares the Sovereign Lord. 'Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?'" (Ezekiel 18:23)

As early as the Book of Genesis, when God discovered the sin of Adam and Eve, He had every right to be furious, but His first action was to help them. "The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them." (Genesis 3:21) Therefore, I believe that God has always been the same, and that as such, He has always been "deserving" of our love. There is no doubt in my mind that believers in the 5th century BC loved God just as much as believers today. And they recognized and cherished His love in return.

Yes but that's not the question I am asking. He has every right to not save us and that doesn't make him any less of the God he actually is. He would still be the one and only awesome God even if there was no redemption plan. We are extremely fortunate that he has chosen to save us but if justice was truly served apart from Christ's sacrifice, we would all be rightfully condemned and d@mned to hell. His awesomeness, like I say has nothing to do with what he chooses to do or not do. He just is. He is the "I am". His works don't earn him that title... he just is God. He doesn't earn his title because it is his title regardless. He is the beginning and the end. The alpha and the omega etc. He is not these things because of the favours he does for us. He is these things regardless. God can do nothing more or less to be not or not be God. He is God.

And by saying that he is a loving God because he did save us, that is kind of like saying he would be unjustified in not saving us which isn't true. We deserved hell but he saved us. And even if he did not, he would still be God. He is already set apart from other God's because he is in control of everything. Everything belongs to him, was made by him and for him. No God truly rivals him... in the end it will be just one God.

The question is so hypothetical that it is difficult for me to understand. First of all it's in his redemtion or sacrifice for us ,undeserving as it is, that he demonstrates his love for us. Why would anyone worship a God that does not love them? I agree with Kelseybear when he/she says that this would make our God no different that the many false and pagan gods worshipped throughout history except that he would have been responsable for our creation. That would have been a life without hope or in reallity no real life at all. Second, redemption was always a part of Gods plan. Certainlly He knew that Adam and Eve were going to sin prior ever having created them. I believe it's that underserved love for us i.e. Grace, that makes him the ONLY true God! Forever worthy of all praise!

I give up. LOL. I can't make the question any clearer than I already have.

I'm out.

:)

OK, It is in some way true. He HAS NOT to do anythink to show his almightness. But He is not only almighty God, He also loves us and He loves us so much, HE wants to save us. All his creation and power might be enough to celebrate Him, but He gave us something more than "just" nature and His powerful hand. ;)
