A real prophet is not one to prophesy on a daily basis. when a prophet prophesy ,he is sent by God to whomever the message is for to speak what God has commanded him to say. he may teach, or preach daily, but he does not come with a message from God daily. And he will say; Thus saith thee the lord". He is almost never the bearer of good news. that is why the prophets of old were all killed. the people did not want to hear what he had to say,because it was always about what God was going to do to them if they did not straighten up. When you think of Prophet, you should think of death. The same thing will occur when the two wittnesses who are prophets come back for the last time. the people will kill them, because they will be the bearer of bad news as far as they are concerned. DEUTERONOMY;18; 18-22; I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak (prophesy)unto them all that I command him. 19; And it shall come to pass,that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name. i will require it of him. 20; But the prophet which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which i have not commanded him to speak,or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. 21; And if thou say in thine heart; How shall we know the word which the Lord hath not spoken.? 22;When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass,that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken.;,, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously ;thou shalt not be afraid of him. ................(People were afraid of prophets in those days,because they brought messages from God that was not pleasing to them. that is why they killed them. Prophets today may have a different agenda than the prophets of all because they came after Jesus left the earth)
 
Hi Gabriel - I read your post, and I was so moved by my spirit that I don't know where to start, too much going on in my heart and head in response to this. For to biblically enlighten some of your premises here one would need to talk in person, over time. Their is much to understand in the way of prophesy and it's contexts in Scripture.

And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.
 
The prophet in OT fit your blog post to a T however when Jesus came and made a new covenant the way prophets walked appeared to change.
A prophet to many is a person who is anointed by God to speak and to prophesy to have visions and dreams and to foretell of prophetic events.

And yes sometimes this is what a prophet is to do but for the most part the Prophet is to speak the heart of God and to build up encourage empower and to strengthen his church. And the words that the prophet speaks has power in it because it is not their own words that they are speaking.
I have seen God use me so much in this area alone, I am one who speaks my heart and often times words are placed on my heart and they just flow most of the time I don't even know what I am speaking is of god's heart I only know to type and I do like a mad man as if I can't type the words fast enough.

This is normally how God works through me and simply because I spoke what was placed on my heart I have seen God do amazing things in peoples hearts I have seen inner wounds being healed and mended I have seen a spark made it people and a fire is ignited in them I have had people pm me telling me what i aid touched their hearts so deeply and moved their soul or telling me what I spoke was as if God himself was telling them exactly what they needed to hear.

The prophet is the lips of God and it's his words that flow through however a prophet never speaks on his own accord and his words always line up with scripture. You can have the gift of prophecy and you can have visions and dreams but that doesn't make you a prophet, I spoke this very thing before I even knew I walked in the realm of a prophet, i had no idea that what I said at that time was so profound.
