Not sure why I'm creating a new thread for this, but felt compelled to share anyway.

My Dad was going to come out today to visit us and his 5 grandkids, one of which he hasn't met yet. But he emailed me yesterday and said he couldn't come out because he was so grieved by the election results. He said he was grieved for what would happen to his children and grandchildren in the future.

Yet he decided to go back on his word to come see his grandchildren because the election grieved him so much. What is going to grieve his grandkids more?
 
IMO, that's a pretty lousy and lame excuse to not come see his grandkids.. Your father is being petty and selfish.. Not to mention inconsiderate of you and his grandkids. :/

Wow. He decided not to meet his youngest grandkid because he's upset about the election?

Just my opinion: That was a sorry excuse not to come visit his you and his grandkids.
 
often people make decisions on the spur of the moment out of emotional distress --
this doesn't mean that on another day they may see things in quite a different light...

Sorry this happened to you Matt! These Demobrats are out of control. I have no sympathy with a grandparent who cares more for politics than his flesh and blood!
