God loves us so much that He gave his only begotten Son, that we may be saved. Jesus is the way, He freely gave His life, so that we may be free from the chains of sin.

Another truth...and It is not that we loved him, but that he loved us......as unworthy as we can be in the flesh and yet he still went willingly....maybe only a few people that I would lay my life down.....and yet he died for all, although all will not believe.....

We can all agree to love one another,irregardless of differing opinions.

This is true, but lest we forget...Love and truth go hand in hand.....no one is ever commanded to compromise truth fro the sake of fellowship......If we want fellowship we must walk in the light as he is in the light...1st John 1:5-7

I agree and hundreds of verses posted as the word of God does not return void, but accomplishes that which God deems it to accomplish!

Everyone here takes God's word seriously..but even the most serious ones enjoy a moment or two of silliness every now and again. Alot of us are grateful that dcon made this thread.

Amen and so true....God made us with a sense of humor and even has much to say about laughter.....joy and rejoicing in the word of God.....don't worry I will not let some fool ruin it by ignorant posts!

I think you are misunderstanding the OPs intent.Most threads fall into nasty debates and they are the most popular.I posted something about support of the Jews and someone told me I was "anti Christ"Had about 60 pages of comments.But talk of loving God or subjects that are not "hot topic" and you get around 10 replies.So the OP is saying these are things we can all agree on as believers.In unity as the NT calls for. I dont think the OP was trying to be silly or humorous.

Christ died especially for those who were there who reviled Him to His face. They spat on Him and cursed Him while He suffered great agony for their sins.

There is great rejoicing in heaven over the salvation of a single soul. Imagine the weeping over every soul that is lost.

I spent almost 30 in a fake church trying to live Godly and be serious.

I found a church where people laugh and love God and others, and take Gods word serious.

we celebrate God and his salvation and his word. If thats a bad thing. so be it.

Amen...God forbid we rejoice in spirit, laugh and enjoy a little peace and fellowship and hundreds of scriptures being posted for all to read! NOT!

If people are laughing, they are laughing only for joy in the Word of God and fellowship, nobody laughed in any mockery.

This is true but you are a good man. Yes, I know that no one is good but God alone but that is my own personal estimation. You certainly are not bad. I am grateful that Jesus died on the cross so that scum like you and me can be with Him in heaven one day. You certainly are an amusing man and perhaps we can agree on this.

I agree and will say that at the end of the day nobody comes to Jesus unless the exhibit the same humbling traits of the following...
1. Be merciful unto me a sinner
2. Lord, I am not worthy that you should come under my roof
3. Yea Lord, Even the dogs lick from the crumbs that fall from the master's table
4. We get what we justly deserve

I saw something lovely here yesterday, someone made a post not in keeping with the thread of unity, I saw a soldier (who might be considered controversial sometimes by some people ) offer the olive branch and throw the guy a couple likes (bringing him back in the fold) Good job, sir, standing tall for God and country. TY

Filling our minds with the Word of God prevents stumbles and helps us grow...

Psalms 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
Psalms 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

I really like Psalm 119 and how each 8 verse sets starts with a letter of the Hebrew Alphabet...How shall a young man cleanse his way.....
