My brother and I were sexually and physically abused from preteens until I was 19 and he was 22. This abuse was so bad that this guy had tried to kill both of us on numerous occasions. He was so controlling and possessive. We got to the point where we could not take anymore of it and thought the only way out of this horrible situation was to take his life. This was a bad decision, but it was driven by the rage and anger that had been building up in both of us for all of those years. All we wanted was to be free and not to have this activity happening anymore.

After the murder, for four months, my life was filled with sex, drugs, and drinking. I had to be messed up to make it through the day. The sight of what happened would come up at the most inopportune time. I was plagued by nightmares. Then the body was found. I was at work when the cops came to talk to me. It was 9 pm on a Friday night. They questioned me for about 4 1/2 hours. I told them half of the truth and thought that it was going to be OK. They took me to the County Jail and booked me in on a murder charge. I was 20 years old and was facing a murder charge. That weekend was the longest and took the most out of me. I cried myself to sleep each night and I was so scared and afraid. That was the loneliest I have ever been in my life.

Monday morning, the Detective took me back over to the Police Station for some questioning. I was put in an interrogation room for 8 1/2 hours with 2 packs of cigarettes. During that time I was able to do a lot of thinking. I called for the Det. and went ahead and confessed to the crime and told them what really happened. A huge weight was taken off of my chest. I began to think that it might be OK.

The Detective lead me down to the car to head back to the County Jail. When we were in the car, he asked me if I believed in God. I thought, I am not studying God right now, I am concerned with how much time I was looking at and what was in front of me. He kept asking me if I believed in God. I told him that I did believe in God. He told me that I needed to seek Him. I just thought about what he was saying for a little bit.

When I got back to the County Jail I asked one of the jailers for a Bible. They brought me a little New Testament Bible. Most people would begin reading in John or Romans; not me, I went to Revelations. When I made it to Rev. 3:20 it hit me. God was now knocking on the door of my heart. I went ahead and cried out to Him. I realized my state and that I needed Him to come in and to cleanse me. I asked Him to forgive my sins and to save me. At that instant a peace came over me that was unreal! I began to smile and was overcome with joy. I began to walk around in my cell and worshipped God. I knew that everything was going to be OK.

After 13 1/2 years, I was released and I am still serving the Lord. I have been out now 2 1/2 months and God has been blessing me in so many ways. God will meet you where you are and save you. Never think that you are too far for Him to reach you.

You know , I just smiled at gods amazing work being done in your life ..
I am seeing that many people that have swung so far to one side of the pendulum in sin are sometimes the most full of Gods grace later on .. how amazing to see him working through you already.. Praise god !!
look at you brother !! Look what the lord has done in you!! What a beautiful dispay of Hos forgiveness and mercy in the heart of man .. This reminds me of Isaiah 61

Wow!! Thank you for being courageous enough to share your testimony .. I pray in Jesus name the charge of God and His Army over your life.. may he continually be an outpouring of the work He has begun in you!!

Isaiah 61
New International Version (NIV)
The Year of the Lord’s Favor

61*The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
****because the Lord has anointed me
****to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
****to proclaim freedom for the captives
****and release from darkness for the prisoners,[a]
2*to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
****and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
3*****and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
****instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
****instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
****instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
****a planting of the Lord
****for the display of his splendor.
4*They will rebuild the ancient ruins
****and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities
****that have been devastated for generations.
5*Strangers will shepherd your flocks;
****foreigners will work your fields and vineyards.
6*And you will be called priests of the Lord,
****you will be named ministers of our God.
You will feed on the wealth of nations,
****and in their riches you will boast.
7*Instead of your shame
****you will receive a double portion,
and instead of disgrace
****you will rejoice in your inheritance.
And so you will inherit a double portion in your land,
****and everlasting joy will be yours.
8*“For I, the Lord, love justice;
****I hate robbery and wrongdoing.
In my faithfulness I will reward my people
****and make an everlasting covenant with them.
9*Their descendants will be known among the nations
****and their offspring among the peoples.
All who see them will acknowledge
****that they are a people the Lord has blessed.”
10*I delight greatly in the Lord;
****my soul rejoices in my God.
For he has clothed me with garments of salvation
****and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness,
as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest,
****and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
11*For as the soil makes the sprout come up
****and a garden causes seeds to grow,
so the Sovereign Lord will make righteousness
****and praise spring up before all nations.

God is so good and your testimony reveals how great and wonderful the grace and mercy of God is. God came in a strong and overwhelming way into your life and heart when you accepted Jesus. What a wonderful God loving policeman to open the door to God for you and plant that seed in your heart that God watered.
I am sorry and grieve for what you and your brother experienced in her childhood and youth-hood.
My brother in Christ, God has wonderful plans for you and He can use the things that the devil tried to destroy us with to bring light into the darkness. :D Blessings to you.
Amen so true God meets us where we are and comes in proportion to our needs.

Thanks be to God! I'm so glad you came into the family. Isn't it great how God comes just at the right time? I'm praying for you. :)

Our god is awesome in so many ways I'm just trying to be were everyone else is with god. God bless you

Thank you for sharing this pltman. This had to be difficult to share in the most obvious way and then again a privilege to exhalt our Lord Jesus Christ.

Awww man... I think your experience is that kind of testimonies that change lives. So many people out there wondering whats happening with them (pray and pray and no answer). You giving testimony that when someone truly open his heart for Jesus, nothing and nobody will stop from reaching the plan God has designed in your life. Pltman, May the Lord bless you and shine upon you everyday of your life, in Jesus name, Amen.

HALLELUJAH! Oh God.. sweet and merciful God, I'm overwhelmed by your everlasting love.

On a job interview, I was able to share my testimony. It was a pretty cool interview. There was a man and woman conducting the interview. The man looked at me and asked me if I could change anything in my life what would it be.

I thought for a second and then said NOTHING!!! What I have experienced is what has made me the man I am today and I wouldn't change a thing. Both of them were in shock because they didn't expect that answer. What we go through is used for God's Glory. Don't be ashamed of what you have been through. Grow the courage to share what God has brought you through.
