I grew up in the Anglican Church in Canada, did all the right things including Sunday school, youth group and altar boy, confirmation and membership. But I could not bring myself to fully accept that Christ is the way, the truth and the life and that no one comes to God except through Him.

I left the church as soon as I could and sought new age truths. I fervently believed that no faith expression was completely true. Everyone went to heaven. I believed that the world needed to combine the best elements of each religion for a maximized expression of faith. God would smile on that and reward us. I believed in what the enemy wanted me to believe, that the church was defined by its sinful past, rather than by untarnished teachings of Jesus.

But ever since I left the church as a young adult, God sent people to my side to witness, in your face, Bible bearing, scripture reciting folks. You name it, they were there: in public washrooms, in the grocery store where I worked, the parking lot attendant, in parks, etc.

But I can tell you with absolute sincerity that not a single person has witnessed to me since I gave my heart to Christ and submitted to the cross. No lie. God did what He wanted by sending a team to my side. God did not give up on me.

Now that their job is done, God has surely put them into the lives of others who truly need to hear the truth.

Wow, that's a cool story! God wasn't going to let you go without a fight.

I wish we all could go to heaven. If it was up to me I'd say "everybody gets to go". But it isn't up to me, thank God.

Once we know the story, it all makes sense (well, most of it). And the parts we don't know, we just have to trust.
