I'd have to say I like it. too many people are clueless as to what they want in life. then 1/2 of them who do know what they want give up and settle for less.

this leads to a life of frustration. frustration worse than that that comes along with the time of waiting.

You all are absolutely right about the characters here being fictional. :)) Though it would be really awesome if the man being described existed in reality. If he did, girls would have gone like "is he a CC member? What's his CC account name". lol
 
I called her view of herself over the top. I mean, there is NOTHING wrong with her expecting those things in a man. It's just the general way she came across throughout the entire conversation with this man. She claimed to be willing to submit, but everything about her screamed "DOMINANT." That's what I meant by over the top XD Prolly meant "overbearing" or somethin lol.

Hi Sharp,

He'd be attractive (to me) because he seems too good to be true. lol. Meeting him and being in a relationship with him is like winning the powerball lotto jackpot (haha!) although a guy exactly like him may not exist in real life. I'm just saying it would be cool if he existed. But I have gotten over the fact that both men and women aren't perfect.

I like this, because the things described are things that I hope every man would strive for. However, to completely meet everything in that list would require perfection, and none of us can measure up to that standard. I would want a guy striving to do his best in every area, but I don't expect perfection. I know that I am so far from perfect, it's not even funny. But I'm striving toward excellence, and any improvement I made can be attributed to the glory of God, Christ working in my life.

I think it is good to have an idea of what we want, and refuse to settle, which is really the whole point of the fictional story. Not the fact that she's domineering, or that such a guy is too good to be true. She has standards, but they have nothing to do with the material things of this world - they have more to do with the deeper things that make up the kind of people we are. It's okay to know what you're looking for, but you also have to remember that not everyone is perfect and just because they don't meet all of your criteria doesn't mean you would be settling, either. You have to cut people some slack sometimes! After all, God cuts us a lot of slack as we strive to be more like Him. :)
 
Wait, but the man doesnt say anything but like two sentences..... the last one being, your asking a lot.. Chefj how is that a man to good to be true??

Of course I was pertaining to the man the girl in the story described to be the man she was looking for. He seems to be too good to be true that a guy like him may not actually exist (nowadays).

Although, in another perspective, we may say it can be subjective too. Like, I may think of a guy as someone who perfectly fits her description but another woman (e.g. you) may think of the same guy to be falling short of these characteristics, according to your standards. And if it makes it clearer quantitatively, I may give a guy a 10 out of 10 in the "gentleness" category while you may just give him an 8 out of 10. In this case, this controversial man of that woman's dreams may also be for real.

lol. I don't know if that makes sense at all :)

I appreciate the irony of this thread, men should be all these things and women hope to find this kind of man while simultaneously saying it's too good to be true and that guy most likely doesn't exist in the world today.....so even if he's there you won't believe in him.......why try?.

What's a man worth by the way??????

That was a portrait of an ideal man. Ideal men don't exist. If a woman loves a man, she had better follow the 13th chapter of 1 Corinthians: "Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous;love doesn't brag, and is not arrogant, doesn't act unbecomingly; it doesn't seek its own,is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered..." (4-5 v.). ))))
P.S. Though sometimes I pray for such an ideal man )))) LOL )))
 
Men of today are just not raised to take on the responsibiliy of family, and a strong independant woman - or even given love unconditionally. So I wish her luck in finding Mr. right. He may never be born.
