Every since it came out, I have been particularly moved by the lyrics of a secular song by John Michael Montgomery. He tells the story of a little girl whose drug-addicted father kills his drug-addicted wife, then himself. After the girl is adopted by a Christian family, the song ends like this.

I wrote this poem my in the 10th grade for a high school English class. People think I'm speaking figuratively, and most would deny, think I am crazy, or demon possessed if I told them that I can literally see and hear demons and angels in my every day waking existence. Its taken me this long to grow in my faith in God and myself, ground myself in the word of the Bible to know that I'm not crazy and that is more frightening then if I was. However, I'm not scared of demons because my fear of God is greater then my fear of the darkness in this world. Making God anger scares me more then living to the ideals and expectations of this world. I'm just sharpening my sword. Thanks for the opportunity.

How can we control the demons with in?
I look into your eyes
and see the creature that possesses you
the anger that engulfs you
the rage that contorts your face.
Part of me whimpers, but

This is nothing novel. It happens between people. If you loan me your car and I wreck it, will I look forward to seeing you again? No. It is no coincidence that the result of the very first sin was to duck into the bushes. Adam and Eve ate the fruit,heard God in the garden, and crept behind the leaves.
Where are you" God asked, not for his benefit. He knew exactly where they were. Th question was spiritual, not geographical. "examine where you are children. You aren't where you were. You were at my side; now you have hidden from me."

.Let go of dreams of tomorrow.
Focus on today.
Look on every thing with fresh eyes for what you remember is what was.
Live and rejoice in what is.
Be it sadness and pain
or happiness and joy.
wealth or poverty,
find ultimate joy in the truth and ultimate happiness in unconditional love.
For they are the only things that remain constant.
For they are from God
The nature of beings is pure light and goodness
Rejoice in knowledge and learning
because that is the path toward God and truth
See with clear eyes the world
unfettered with misconceptions based on past experiences and attachments.
People change, things change.

LEARN TO BE STILL
“Be still, and know that I am God” Psalm 46:10
spiritual calm, that God commands, does not come from a lack of troubles; it derives from a steady, deep reflection on the ways God has intervened in history on behalf of his people (cf. Romans 15:4).
“Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10)
Psalm 46 divides into three sections as indicated by the contemplative selah after each group of verses. In the first section (vv. 1-3), there is an opening declaration that God is our refuge and strength; therefore, the Lord’s people need not fear even in the bleakest of circumstances, illustrated by a crumbling earth and turbulent sea that surrounds and threatens God’s people.
In the second part (vv. 4-7), the city of God is the calm in the storm. The nations surge, hostilities rage, but the voice of Jehovah subdues them. The refrain expresses the rationale for hope when there is none: “The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress” (v. 7).
The last part (vv. 8-11) invites the people of God to consider God’s past interventions in the affairs of men as solid evidence of his abiding presence, again concluding with the encouraging affirmation, “The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress” (v. 11). He marshals the armies (i.e., “hosts”) of heaven to do his bidding; he is the true God who involved himself in Jacob’s life, providing gracious blessings and protection to the fulfillment of his promises. Thus, he is the God who is willing to use his power on behalf of his people to fulfill the gracious promises that he has made. He is with us!
