Craig wants to maybe move to north Dakota. He asks for God's will to be done so...

Okay. I have seen some people on the internet who want to add stuff to the bible. I think (hope) we can all agree that they belong in Monty Python's "Spot the Looney" sketch. I do not want to add anything to the bible. I never have.


For the purposes of this thread, we'll make up a guy named Craig who thinks he should maybe move to North Dakota. He wants to follow God's will, and so he asks God to guide him.

This poll is directed at people who say that there is no more revelation. Here is my question: Do you think God can somehow let Craig know what to do, but this is NOT considered a "revelation"? Will God just let Craig make his own choice, and make that choice work out for the best? Or can God not tell Craig where to go (don't laugh), because this is officially "God's words", and must then be added to the bible?

And once again, I'm not trying to pick a fight. I probably won't post in the thread again, unless I need something else clarified. I'm just trying to understand where you guys are coming from.

P.S. It's a public poll.
 
1. Craig needs to pray.
2. Craig needs to write out a list of positives and negatives of staying in said state or moving to N. Dakota.
3. Craig needs to take a count, Craig needs to pray some more.
4. Craig needs to examine the list. How mans 'pros' and how many 'cons,' and what are the relative strenght points of each pro and each con. Some reasons get more points.
5. Craig needs to pray some more and Craig needs to open his bible and ask God for some help.
6. Craig needs to pay attention to the signs of his life, what is going on? Is his house about to be foreclosed? The landlord just told him he's making his home into a petting zoo.
7. Pray some more. Go to church, go to altar, pray some more.
The signs will tell all the answers clearly, or, murkily, but they will tell, and God is sovereign through all Craig's choices.
8. The Lord has led. Your job is simple: follow. Like Joseph, God's divine providence will bring you through what could be a coming 'prison' severity (ever lived in N. Dakota in winter ! ! ! ) just perfect, according to His will.
This is a demonstration of laboring with the Lord, Craig is God's workmanship.

My answer to the poll is God is sovereign, He does things for His good will and pleasure, and, per Jeremiah 29:11, those plans are going to be for good and not for evil, with a future and a hope. :)

You can vote for more than one option, but I honestly just wanted to see how people view "No new revelation" and "God's leading" coexisting. It could be something as simple as the definition of "revelation" that makes me wonder. But there's no trick, honest. The question is totally transparent.
 
Your question won't do what you want it to. Rom. 8:28 kicks in if Craig makes a mistake.
