Adam & Eve kept from tree of life

The Lord wanted us to be happy, so he gave us a tree of life. It is symbolic of the pleasures he afford us:

Thou dost show me the path of life;
in thy presence there is fulness of joy,
in thy right hand are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11 RSV

That's a good question is the tree of life symbolic?, looking at this verse does seem to say once the days of man was longer and I'm thinking man it was eating the Friut from the tree of life, I assume that after the knowledge tree fruit was plucked and consume, The tree of life was no longer available to eat though this doesn't imply man will be immortal but for Adam and Eve as long as they Obeyed God's word, death wasn't a issue, God had given them that fruit to sustain life. the universe isn't immortal as well Adam and Eve was given the fruit to live just as long as the universe.

Gen6:3And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

What are you suggesting may have been a typo? There is absolutely nothing at all in Scripture to suggest that Adam and Eve ate of the tree of life... quite the opposite, in fact. Once they were cast out of the Garden of Eden, following their deception and disobedience, the tree of life was guarded by two angels to prevent them from partaking of it in their fallen state. Had they eaten of it already, they would have become immortal, which obviously they were not. We mortal beings attain to immortality through faith in the propitiatory sacrifice of Jesus Christ upon the cross, where He poured out His righteous blood unto death to pay the sin debt on our behalf due to His great love for us, that we may be reconciled to God.

Please tell me what is wrong in what I have said.

And there's nothing in scripture that says they didn't before they disobeyed God, just the opposite we can't just throw away what God said to them they can eat from any tree in the garden except one tree.

I threw nothing away, but you add and fail to take the rest of what we are told into consideration. Did I say they were not allowed to eat of the Tree of Life? Did I say it was not there in the garden? It was there, don't be ridiculous to imply I said things I did not. They were prevented from eating from it for a specific reason. I'm not fond of half verse display at all, and the first part of verse 22 says the reason why they couldn't eat from it no longer.

Why did God have a tree of life in the garden?


Many say that Adam & Eve would have lived forever If they had not sinned by eating from the tree of good and evil that brought death to the world. So why have a tree of life if they could live forever regardless?
It seems to me physical death was part of the world already. A & E sin brought spiritual death & eating from the tree of life would have caused man to live forever in that fallen state. God prevented that as an act of mercy.
I would like to hear your thoughts.

A) So that man could eat and physically live forever. It's what Genesis 3:22 implies is said by God in the negative.

Adam and Eve would have lived forever if they had not sinned by eating of the forbidden tree because they would never have been kicked out of the garden and prevented from eating from the tree of life, which causes a person to physically live forever on the earth. To prove this is how things were supposed to be we can read what happens in Revelation 22


Revelation 21:1-3
1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth,a for the first heaven and earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.

2 I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying: “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God


Revelation 22:2
In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.


So man wasn't intended to physically die but to live forever, on earth, with our Lord.

I don't agree on the point that physical death was already part of the world though. I believe that death is a direct result of sin...

Not even insects died? Or bacterias? What were spiders eating? What were carnivors eating?
What about plants, plants did not 'die' either?

If animals did not die, did they multiply as God commanded them to do? Our planet has a limited sources.

If even Adam needed an outside source (the tree of life) to live forever, on what basis were animals immortal?

This is ironic to your previous post 23#, again I'm not happy at all with you leaving out the first part of verse 22.. At these point I don't know what to tell you but don't take away part of a verse to fit, your agenda, your belief.
