So, I was reading in Proverbs 6 tonight and it says adultery is unforgiveable. Does this mean that the person who was betrayed could never fully forgive or that it's unforgiveable in God's eyes?

Well this was kind of my point.. So whoever commits adultery will go to Hell.. even if they repent? Even if they didn't have a relationship with the Lord when they did this.. This is sad.. I thought when a person asks for forgiveness all was forgiven.. I'm so new here, and to the bible, and to everything Christian-like. I'd love to hear opinions on this subject: Forgiveness

Of course they will be forgiven if they repent. Any sin is forgiven if we come to the Lord and confess and change with an honest heart. The whole world is full of adulterers and there is a door open through Christ if they want forgiveness. This is where the new man in Christ appears, and away with the old.
There are rules regarding adultery though, if they go back to their partner they defile him/her. That other partner is free from the marriage to stay single or marry again, but only in the Lord. This is the commandment only for those already in the Lord.
The rest who dont know Christ but come to him because of this conviction, with all the shame & the guilt associated, I guess, get more leeway and can continue in their relationship if their partner forgives, and that forgiveness also from Christ should make that persons walk lean heavily towards the Lord from there on. If they continue to adulterate, then they weren't really sincere in the first place and the outcome will be devastating as their conscience will be soared with a hot iron thus leading to more sin.
The only sin that is not forgiven is the sin of "blashemy against the holy spirit"

I don't know what translation you are using, but none of the translations I looked up said you will not be forgiven. It says you will be punished. Which, you will. But, unforgiven? I don't know about that now. Check your translation and give more details.

actually blasphemy of the holy spirit is blasphemy not rejecting him... it depends on what was meant by blasphemy sooo it could be any number of things.

A woman caught in the act of adultery was brought to Christ and he forgave her.

Jesus showed what true grace is. He just forgave her, Of course knowing he would die for her sin in the near future.

All sins that are repented of are forgiveable. But not all have the same consequences. The effects of murder are permanent. Adultery and fornication and other sins of the flesh have certain lasting consequences. Every sin a person commits is a certain sin against his/her body and his/her soul. Stealing is a sin, but restitution is possible with that sin. That doesn't make it right. But if a person took something, he can give it back. What a person takes in adultery, rape, murder, is difficult to give back. A marriage is not the same after an affair. A life of sin will catch up to anyone who sins.
As it is, all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory.
Therefore, even if we didn't commit adultery, we may have committed other sins which are not good, for no sin is good. We all, then, need Christ's forgiveness, God's mercy in Christ. In Erie PA Scott R. Harrington
