I agree with Lon on this one. I found out 5wks ago my mother has cancer. She's been going through treatments, both radiation and chemo every day for that time. She has an operation yet ahead of her. For a Christian to say you want God to take you now?! No, you're here for a purpose, spread the Gospel, encourage someone,help the poor and needy. Many people would love to live longer. Appreciate what God has given you.

No way is it suicidal.. It is faith in Gods promise of salvation and eternal life in His perfect existence.. I place it in Gods hands and accept his will.. I wish to die but God has up to this stage wished me to continue on living, So be it His will is done..

the thing is most retirement and assisted villages that are run well, depend on christian caregivers for the personal touch, because those that arent, get taken over by corporates who embezzle funds. this actually happened at a village in worked in.
it is exactly the same with churches. You might go to a flash church that has all the bells and whistles, but if the people in the church are not actually christians, you just get what you pay for.

Personally, I hate mine.. i too am ready to die, and I hope I do before I turn 50 in October.. But as has been said, only God knows when I will die and until then, all I can do is keep on slogging through.
i think if you ask God for wisdom whatver you life circumstances are He will provide what you need.

And it hurts women harder than men because men often have control over finances, whereas in. a lot of marriages it seems women either dont have or give up any financial planning to their spouse. Another thing is women may not earn as much as men do so they wont save as much enough to look after their own affairs.
This is why widows (esp in Bible) were often destitute.

US nursing homes are staffed by men and women who need employment to support themselves and their loved ones. Some are Christian. Many aren’t.

If they do sell it they can only get back what they paid for it the profit goes to the CEO who owns everything. Its more like renting but a fixed lease, residents pay a village fee for the rest of their life.
I think people who are well off dont really understand those who arent in better circumstances and you know, anything can happen, people can plan all they want but they cant take their worldy riches with them to heaven. what profits a man if he gains the entire world but loses his soul?
I have seen many souless places and none more so than wealthy retirement villages. when people do come out its for happy hour I never realised how drunk old people can get. (and dangerous to themselves)

some villages put up the age to 75 (used to be over 55 you could reside there) and what the CEOs are wanting is people to just live there a shorter time so they can make more profit.
quality of life is a bit down on their list of priorities. as long as people are fed, housed and entertained they will, stay in business. It looks alright on the surface, but you soon find out working for these institutions a rotten core underneath. some will pay $1000 kickback to recommend a friend. I think its questionable really but it suits a certain kind of person above a certain income bracket.

Wow that is a lot of money. For me it would be better just to stay at home and hire people to help out. I have friends that when they got older they went to a third world nation and married a woman with the understanding that she would take care of them in their old age. Although I suppose that could be expensive also.
