Hello everyone :) I'm seeking a little advice for the situation I'm in with this girl I want to date.

First, a little history:She comes to my church's youth group, though she goes to another church on Sundays. The two of us have known each other for several years(through high school), though we've never been more than acquaintances. Now we're both headed to the same college in the fall. We've both always striven to grow closer to God, and that's the biggest reason I don't want to mess this up. One doesn't come across a lot of girls(or guys) with that quality.

Now, the current situation: My youth group went to centrifuge(a church camp) and we both were there. While there, I decided I could kill two birds with one stone: Become more than acquaintances with her, and grow in my relationship with the Lord. Since we're going to the same college, I asked her to visit churches with me when we moved. I then asked her to go to lunch with me sometime so we could get to know each other better. She accepted both. That doesn't necessarily mean she's into me; she's the friendliest person I have ever met and would probably do it for anyone.

I plan to ask her on a date after the lunch(depending on how it goes) so what I want to know is how I can make sure I don't mess this up.

Tell me if you need any more info.

I'm not sure what you're after....sounds like you're doing a great job so far! Keep being yourself....

(FYI You will mess up a lot of times. Welcome to reality...we all mess up. Keep learning from your mistakes and you'll do okay.)

Well I suppose I'm just after any advice someone might have to give. Confirmation that what I've done was a good course of action is nice too. I know that messing up is normal, but I just want to do whatever I can to minimize the chance I do so, because I don't think I'll come across many, if any, other girls like her anytime soon.

Here is the best piece of advice that i always try to remember

Don't Worry.

Honestly if she is worth it then she is going to be paitent and kind and understanding, i would try to avoid situations where you have a pretty much guarenteed chance of playing the fool, but past that just play it by ear.

one thing that girls like is when you lsiten to what they want, but at the same time make the decisions yourself (complicated i know).

Also.. Chilvary is not dead so holding doors and such is always a plus.

overall you shouldnt be to worried, as said before, if she is worth it then shes not going to care to mcuh about your mistakes and will probally end up making a few herself

and the last bit of advice i have is dont rush things.. Let all of it flow at a natural pace and if she starts hitting the gas on the physical then its your job as the leader of the relationship to put your foot on the brake.

Best of luck to you

Thanks all for the advice. I think RadioU hit the nail on the head in that I'm simply worrying too much.
