I could really use some prayer. My allergies are so bad and nothing helps. I've tried all different kinds of nasal sprays and oral medications (Allegra, Zyrtec, Claritin) and they don't seem to do a thing, or if they do I become tolerant to them very quickly. It's beyond frustrating that I can't get relief from itchy nose, eyes and ears, sneezing and a stuffy nose. I'm on my last nerve with it (it's been years like this) and I don't know what to do. I'm petrified of needles but I'm about ready to get allergy shots. :(

I'm so sorry you have this problem! I will defnately be praying. It won't necessarily cure them, but keeping a healthy diet with lots of fruit and veggies and not much sugar or processed foods really helps keeping allergies at bay.

Thank you! I'm pretty certain it's the ferrets and cats that are the problem. :( But I'm not wiling to give them up.

Yeah that's pretty awful to love pets, and yet be allergic to them. If you can get over your fear of needles (ok, ok, I won't ask the impossible), if you can ENDURE a needle, maybe the allergy shot would help.

You might already know this but: Many doctors say that you need to take allergy meds regularly for them to have a good effect if what you're allergic to is constantly around (so, ie for people allergic to pollen they should start taking the meds before the pollen season begins, and avoid "gaps" in taking the meds.)

+ Try flushing your nose with a saline solutions every evening (and use saline eye drops/ eye wash as well).
You can make it yourself if you find out the salt/ water ratio

prayer for comfort/relief or your parents move to a nicer climate. ha ha.

I'm no doctor but I've lived in this body for 63 years. My body starts exhibiting symptoms like the ones you describe when I'm tired. If you're getting rest and enough to eat, and keeping yourself comfortably warm, you're off to a good start. If that doesn't work, I guess you'll have to do what your doctor suggests, if you're that uncomfortable. The only other thing I can think of that would cause those symptoms would be tobacco, but hopefully you wouldn't go near tobacco.

Lord heal Aqua11, of all the allergies, yes Lord. In Jesus name, Amen!

Very interesting. I'm able to get lots of rest, plenty to eat and keep warm. The problem with going to the doctor is that they just give me yet another medicine to try and/or don't really believe that I have a problem because I don't have many of the symptoms outside of the house (which is why I assume the pets are the problem). We went to an ENT specialist a few years back because we thought it might have been partially because of a deviated septum from a recent injury. They were in such a hurry they all but kicked down the door, looked at me for two seconds, distractedly listed to both me and my mom describe symptoms. Pretty much called me a liar and left. O_o I've kind of given up on doctors.
And yes, I stay away from tobacco. I have absolutely no interest in that. ;)

I feel like I've been pretty consistent with a lot of the medications and even after weeks nothing seemed to be helping at all. :\
Saline works wonderfully for about a minute and then my nose gets stuffy again. I wonder if that Neti pot thing would help...

Lord, bring healing! Give Aqua the healing that is so desperately needed. In Jesus name...

Well, we'll have to dig a little deeper. Make sure you are eating the right kinds of food (not too much sugar or fat, especially saturated fat). And getting enough rest doesn't only mean lying in bed for a period of time, but also pacing yourself when you are awake (if you are one of those people that drives himself too hard).

Then something would help. lol

I was allergic to my cat all 16 years of his life. We have a choice -- put up with the allergies or get rid of the pet. If I ever hit that last nerve, I wouldn't have had my cat on my lap when he died. I did. I also never got another cat.
