People are slaves to whatever has mastered them (2 Peter 2:19).

"How" do we allow the Spirit to lead us? Aren't we "controlled" by the Spirit?

Be conscious of Him (the Holy Spirit who lives in you) always and heed to His Word in the Bible. That's how you allow Him to lead you. He does nothing without the Word.

But . . . how do we "allow" the Spirit to do whatever He wants in our lives, if He is in control? If the Spirit of God is controlling us, there is no room for us to "allow" or disallow the Spirit to do what He wants. If it is we who determine what the Spirit does or does not do in our lives, then it is we who are in control, and not the Spirit of God.

The Spirit controlling us is not a problem . . . it is the Promise! If a person were Truly being led by the Holy Spirit, they would be thankful, just as I am thankful! No human can determine his own future. If man could determine his own future, then there would be no need for the Redeeming Christ.

Psalm 39:9 NKJV - "I was mute, I did not open my mouth, Because it was You who did it."
