2 Peter 2:6KJV
6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;

True.
This is further decline, though, as the ‘leader’ of this country has formally embraced and is encouraging sexual immorality and distancing from God.

America was founded on belief in God, and the reason the founding fathers left England to escape persecution. A sad day in America. Just a further falling away........

True and the closer we get to a Godless, borderless, socialist, disarmed, Sodom and Gomorrah America.

When I was a little boy in the 50's, Halloween was a fun day. We dressed up in costumes; cowboys, Indians, hobos, robots, maybe Casper the Friendly Ghost with a sheet and then went to church for games and treats. Afterwards there was trick-or treat at neighbors houses but we really didn't know any tricks. Today Halloween is truly satanic, blood, guts, torture and mayhem. Americans now spend nearly as much on Halloween décor as Christmas. Drive through any suburban neighborhood in the fall and just observe what people have in their front yard. If you are not frightened by what you see you are numb.

Inch by inch we have been led into darkness, so slowly that we have hardly noticed the change.

Come Lord Jesus.

Agreed! And the world has been in the process of building their tower of Babel, which is represented by how the world has and continues to come together as one.

What I have noticed is that, the world has completely forgotten about their condemned state due to sin which separates them from God and have been embracing the sinful nature.

I've also noticed the world-wide attitude for performing good works, as though they would gain favor with God through them. They do this however, while avoiding commitment to Christ, as though them they will somehow tip the scales with God. However, we know that good works by themselves are as unclean rags and cannot take away sin.

Yes, we are definitely very, very close to the Lord gathering His church and the coming wrath of God, which will follow.

my town already has a tower.
Its called the skytower and was built in 2000 next to a casino.
Before that we had an obelisk on top of a hill.
Before that the maori lived in pas, which were like their version of castles.

Thing is every high thing must come down, so..its not like God doesnt know about stuff that goes on, even behind closed doors.

we had reports of sex abuse in closed so called 'christian communities like gloriavale. So people think that that stuff i,e sin doesnt go on in all christian places have got another think coming. You wont ever get a church that has every single one squeaky clean, and perfect Im sorry but that just doesnt happen.
even if it appears clean on the outside, there will be places were people have obviously missed a spot but they dont know because its their blind spot.

The sin of Sodom and Gomorrah was pride and disregard for the poor while their bellies were full and they had plenty of idle time.

Read your Bibles.

If the God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for those reasons, He could have destroyed most of the unfaithful world who were doing the same. I'm pretty sure that the Lord did not rain down fire and sulfur on them because of those reasons you mentioned. Their sin was men having sex with men and likewise women with women. We understand this because of their desire to have sex with the angels that came to Lot's house. This is supported by the fact that when the men wanted to have relations with the angels, Lot offered his daughters saying that they were virgins'. Jude also reveals the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah:

"In like manner, Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, who indulged in sexual immorality and pursued strange flesh, are on display as an example of those who sustain the punishment of eternal fire. "

then God would have destroyed a million cities on earth already by fire and brimstone.
you're wrong; that can't be right either, by exactly your own reasoning.

they were doing something far, far worse there -- the thing that was being done in Gibeah. something that you can take one look at a corpse and immediately know the entire place must be utterly destroyed, every person and every animal.

you can't tell someone has had homosexual relations by glancing at any twelfth of their corpse.
there's something else going on there.

Actually, I'm surprised that you said that God destroyed those cities because of their neglect for the poor and their idleness, as the information contained in that event is straight forward.

I believe that the scripture that I gave you out of Jude regarding Sodom and Gomorrah supports what I am saying.

The Lord doesn't need to look at anyone to know that they are practicing homosexuality and going after strange flesh. He sent the two angels to Lot's home to get him and his family out, because he was going to destroy them because of men's lust for one another. This is demonstrated by the fact that the men young and old surrounded Lot's house and demanded that he bring out those two men (angels) so that they could have sexual relations with them.

"In like manner, Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, who indulged in sexual immorality and pursued strange flesh, are on display as an example of those who sustain the punishment of eternal fire."

According Jude, their sin and why they were destroyed is made obvious in the scripture above.

By the way, not everyone was indulging in same-sex life style. So no, the Lord would not destroy everyone else by my own example.

There was only one reason that the Lord destroyed those cities and it is because they were going after strange flesh, men with men and most likely women with women.

then why wasn't Ostia or Baia destroyed by fire from heaven? why not San Francisco? Minneapolis? Tel Aviv? London?

there are obvious parallels to Gibeah, and God Himself is who says that their sin was pride, idleness, and disregard for the poor. in that sense, Murica, nuff said.

but at Gibeah we're told something very important -- that everyone who saw a piece of the body of the wife of the unnamed Levite knew immediately that nothing like this had ever been done since they left Egypt. they could tell by looking at a piece of her flesh. what can you learn by seeing a piece of flesh? do you think there had never been a homosexual since they left Egypt? do you think no one had ever had an arm or a leg cut off?

we have to compare Gibeah & the near-destruction of Benjamin, and we have to compare the places where God utterly destroyed a place. what was happening in Jericho? what were they doing before the flood? what does Jude mean, 'pursuing strange flesh' ?
why did the whole city surround Lot's house trying to get the angels? why the angels? why not Lot, if all that was going on is that they were aroused? they wanted the angels. why the Levite in Gibeah? why not the old man who helped him? they wanted the Levite. for what?

"well they were gay, so" does not answer these questions. it does not explain the details of the story and does not explain this:

Look, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: she and her daughter had pride, fullness of food, and abundance of idleness; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty and committed abomination before Me; therefore I took them away as I saw fit.
(Ezekiel 16:49-50)
why were they so haughty? how did they have such fullness of food with an abundance of idleness? who sowed and reaped and prepared their food? how are all the men of the city, even the oldest, out in a mob around Lot's house? how old is the oldest man in Sodom? what does that have to do with Levites and angels, what's so attractive about them to these people? what makes them so willing to risk utter destruction for the chance to do **something** with the "strange flesh" of an angel? Lot is the nephew of the man with the most powerful army in the entire region. Abram could have easily brought his servants and wiped out everyone in the city. what makes you risk the utter destruction of your entire city, to get at an angel? i think the truth is that they had something far more in mind than the common trope. something that you would be able to immediately see the evidence of if you saw a severed hand of a corpse. the 'homosexual' thing does not explain that. pride and failing to help the poor doesn't even explain that. there is an abomination that had never been seen since Sodom taking place at Gibeah, and it was evident from seeing any piece of a dead body, and it was not homosexuality.

This country used to have morals, values, scruples. This country (for the most part) used to fear God. If it were possible, the founders and forefathers would be turning over in their graves. America is in moral decline (has been, and getting worse), and the wickedness and unrighteousness is irreversible. Biden's declaration just helped cement her place as a type of modern day Sodom and Gomorrah in my eyes, and is evidence of a further falling away. Sure, it's been here a long time, but for a president of this country to recognize and proclaim it to the whole world?
