I disagree. You should do a more thorough study of the Quran.

Do you think it is love to treat your wife as if she is cattle?
Doesn't 1Peter 3:7 tell us to give honor unto our wives?

Do you think it's love to stone those who are guilty of adultery?
What did Jesus do when they brought such a woman before Him who was caught in the very act? John 8:4-11

No both religions do not teach love.

In Christ, 1Christianwarrior316

My post was to the comment I quoted. But I can see grunge wants to twist my words. So let me be more specific.
God's Word teaches us the truth.
Mohammad's words teach a lie.
God's Word teaches us to love our enemies.
Mohammad's words teaches kill the infidels who will not submit to Islam.

Is that loving?

So are you saying grunge that our Father is not a loving Father?

In Christ, 1Christianwarrior316

Actually Mohammed teaches not to force the religion on others, not to kill for any reason unless the Muslim community is being attacked. And even so, only to use necessary force and mercy when doing so.

So by Mohammed's teaching, the Jihadist muslims are not truly doing what is pleasing to God.

The Islam God is one of forgiveness and mercy.

She is not saying God isn't loving. She is saying that it's down to discernment. It's not a black and white 'Muslims are hateful, Christians are not'.

So are you saying grunge that our Father is not a loving Father?
I am saying nothing of the sort. You're missing an important word from my post: "Prooftexting." If you don't know what it means, look it up.

But I can see grunge wants to twist my words. So let me be more specific.
I didn't twist your words any more than you twisted the words of the Quran.

God's Word teaches us to love our enemies.
When taken as a whole, absolutely.

However, it is possible to take a few verses out of context and misinterpret or misrepresent them to make it look like God is telling God's people to kill. Examples? Read I and II Samuel. When taken out of context, if one has not read the Gospels of Jesus, and doesn't understand the story of God's eternal Grace and Salvation, one could misunderstand those passages.

Mohammad's words teaches kill the infidels who will not submit to Islam.
See above.

Until you have read the entire Quran, and studied with an Imam who tells you how Muslims interpret it, you have no authority to comment on what it teaches.

Muslims around the globe are decrying what is happening right now, and pleading with their brothers and sisters to stop the violence. Unless your head is in the sand, you must have seen blogs, articles, and videos from Islamic citizens reminding the rioters that what they are doing is against the Quran.

Muslim children are taught to memorize the Quran from an early age. That means even the "lowest" citizens know not just a few verses scattered here and there, the way a lot of Christians know the Bible, but they know the whole document. Unless and until you can quote the entire holy book of Islam to me, you have ZERO authority on what it says and how to interpret it. I will believe Muslims who are telling me the current violence is in direct contradiction to their teachings, not the idiot Christians who are telling me that Islam teaches hate.

It's no wonder so many Muslims think Christianity teaches hate, when there are so many Christians around spouting off like that.

I am saying nothing of the sort. You're missing an important word from my post: "Prooftexting." If you don't know what it means, look it up.
I did look it up and have found no reference to it in any online dictionary. So would you please enlighten me.
I didn't twist your words any more than you twisted the words of the Quran.
Really. I have been reading and studying the Quran for quite some time now. While I may not be able to quote every verse in it or have been taught by an Imam, I do know one thing, it contradicts God's Word.
I see that you would much rather believe your muslim friends than those who have come on this forum who are witnessing the truth about Islam.

Here's a word you should look up..Taqiyya

And may I ask the question, do you believe the God of the Bible and the god of the Quran are the same?

In Christ, 1Christianwarrior316

I'd be afraid of any person with extreme views, in any "direction". And I find the burning of any book to be wrong, it's only intent is to provoke.
If they want to prove they are "better", they should behave better.

So if you find a copy of Hitler's Mein Kampf you would probably keep it?You won't destroy it ?- you don't want to provoke NAZIS

Since even Germany is planning to reprint Mein Kampf for educational reasons, I dont see a reason not to keep it. Reading it could help understand the motivations behind Hitler's actions and knowledge is never anything to be taken lightly. Sure it could be used for the wrong reason, but books should never be destroyed for any reason.

I would absolutely keep it. It's an important book in our history. I would not burn it, not out of fear of "provoking" or insulting any neo-nazis, but because even a negative example is beneficial.

I downloaded an electronic form of Quran then I deleted it form my hard drive - did I destroy a book?

A negative example is beneficial because You say so?What about books written by pedophiles containing pictures of abused children?Would you keep it as well as an important book in out history?Maybe you would...I don't know...for "research" purposes...

You destroyed that copy of it, yes.

Is that wrong? No.

I can't speak for anyone else here, but I make a HUGE difference between discarding a book that has outlasted its usefulness and burning a book for censorship.

I had to discard Bibles -- my basement got flooded last Spring, and many books were destroyed, including several of my Bibles. Some of them were replaced with newer copies of the same translations, but some I chose not to replace. It's neither sinful nor immoral for me to have done that.

A negative example is beneficial because You say so?
Ummm, no, not because I say so. Please show me where I said "because I say so."

What about books written by pedophiles containing pictures of abused children?
Again, it would depend on the situation. I would absolutely keep at least one copy to use as evidence to prosecute the offender. If one copy was already secured, and/or if and when the offender was convicted, I see no problem discarding the evidence, because it will have served its purpose and can absolutely be discarded.

Again, see above, re. purpose/usefulness.

Would you keep it as well as an important book in out history?Maybe you would...I don't know...for "research" purposes...
I see pictures of abused children all the time. Ever watch television late at night, and one of those infomercials comes on about starving kids in Africa, "and you can sponsor one for $0.31 per day" or somesuch? Those are disturbing pictures indeed, and yet they have their purpose: I have to assume they do work to get people to call in and donate their money, because otherwise those agencies would not use such pictures to advertise their agency.

If you can't see a value in education, then I cannot help you.

I downloaded an electronic form of Quran then I deleted it form my hard drive - did I destroy a book?

I mean I guess if you want to take things to an extreme and stupid example then technically you destroyed a copy, but not a book. At most it was probably just a .pdf, now how about you use some common sense next time.

It's sad.

And you know I have seen many 'good Muslims' act in ways much more Christ-like than 'Good Christians' at times.

I'll tell you something. In compassion toward one another, and love toward other human beings, and in peaceful inward looking spirit, there are no group more truthful to this than Eastern Buddhists. Particularly Nepalese Buddhists.

I have so much respect for other religions because I see common denominators in them all. I have no need to fight against muslims and burn a Koran.

Only ignorance of its real teaching, and unfaithfulness to my own faith, would cause me to do such a thing.

They burned the Koran, against what Jesus would teach, and the majority of muslims would weep. But the minority who went and killed Americans just reaffirmed the hatred for the 'Christians' who did the burning deed.

But the Koran and the Muslim faith cannot be held accountable for the actions of an extremist few. Neither can the Bible for the actions of its extremist population.

The book is sound. Sometimes the interpretation just really sucks.

subhanallah, then why don't you be a muslim brother?
lol
come on, read the quran dude. learn islam yourself.

You can't hate muslims, but you are to judge teachings (including Islam, of course).

So do Muslims. Their beliefs are based on the same Old Testament as us. Thou shalt not kill.

Islam is not based on Old Testament. Please go get your facts straight.
Was Adam a muslim? Was Abraham a Muslim? Was Moses a muslim? Was Jesus a Muslim? Did Abraham go to Mecca and build the Kabba?

Please don't continue saying Allah and Yahweh are the same God, as it will be an insult to the LORD.

For you were created all from a single pair of male and female and split into the tribes and nations so that you may come together and know each other, not to despise each other (From the Qu'ran).

The qu'ran speaks of Jesus plenty of times as an example on how to live.

Kick the stereotypes.

Again, false claims.
The Rasul (muhammad) is the only perfect example for muslims. Don't twist the truth by saying Jesus was also an example. And what is the teaching of Jesus in the quran? That he will break the cross, kill the swines, etc etc? lol

Fundamentalists are bad regardless where they come from

No, if the teachings are good, then those who practice it will be good. You know the tree from their fruits. What does the word fundamental means? Oxford dictionary says :
noun
1 (usually fundamentals) a central or primary rule or principle on which something is based:

So what is the most fundamental Commandment that Christ has said ? Love your God
what is another important commandment that Christ has said? Love your neighbor

So it is great to be a fundamentalist Christian and i pray to God i can be one. Amen

It does not allow war to spread the word of Islam. Only to defend it.

Christianity doesn't allow war at all. So which nation is more unfaithful to their religion? Or are both just as bad?

I don't condone killing at all. So a Muslim who understands his own book has no reason to kill me. I am not trying to hurt them.

LOL only to defend? so what is Dar-Al Harb? and can you explain what is written in sura 9 aya 5 here. sura 9:5 anyway, has abrogated many 'less aggressive' verses in the quran (nasikh al-mansoukh = abrogation)

She lives in a Muslim country???

Americans live in a Christian country ... Dont make all the teachings Christian does it?

My arrogance, in all honesty, has nothing to do with you.

I know Muslims. I have muslim friends. They have discernment enough to read the book as it's intended.

She lives in the place where Islam came from and she speaks Allah's and Muhammad's language.
And your friends may either haven't read the quran and sunna thoroughly or they are deceiving you or maybe both even.
America is not a Christian Country, if it is, it will have the Bible as its constitution.
While there are many countries who practice Sharia (quran and sunna) as their constitution.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Subhanallah, please say the shahada brother. you are doing just what allah wants. Subhanallah. you have helped the cause of Allah, Islam and muhammad. Inshaallah, allah will grant you 72 virgins in janna.
