Hostage held in North Korea appears in video - Video on NBCNews.com

What do you say? Rescue operation anyone? The man's 85 and he only has so long to live. It probably wasn't the best idea to go to North Korea, but this really gets my blood pumping. It's already known that North Korea has a strong propaganda campaign against the US. And I dare say that the North Korean youth will believe their government no matter what the US does. They're young and brain washed. The elderly maybe not so much. But I struggle with how to deal with this situation. How much is a man's life worth? How many other American lives is it worth? Would a show of force be sufficient to intimidate and allow a deal under the table in order to let the NK leader save face with his people yet still release American hostages?

It's unfortunate that these people are so brain washed. If we attacked them a lot of misguided North Koreans would be dying when only their government officials are to blame.

The man served his country. Rescue operation absolutely if need be.

He was most likely there to make peace with the horrors of war. Holding him hostage for making amends is offensive and inflammatory- exactly what the North Koreans are going for with this.
