"Then Amnon hated her with intense hatred. In fact, he hated her more than he had loved her. Amnon said to her, "Get up and get out!" (2Samuel13:15)
When we read this scripture we are impressed with the intensity. The reason is that we are told three times that he "hated her" and even a fourth time when he told her to "get up and get out". This is an intense hated that I would say is far above and beyond whatever "love" he had for her.
Amnon wanted to "lie" with Tamar. This is the third time we see this word: "lie" in the Bible. The first was when Lots daughters got him drunk so she could "lie" with him. The second time was when Ruth was with Boaz her "kinsman-redeemer". The word starts with the letter "Sheen" with represents teeth or to devour. Sheen is represented by the number 300. We are told that Solomon had 300 concubines.
I am actually doing a study on the word intimacy. We are told you can have sex without intimacy and you can have intimacy without sex. Sex without intimacy can tear people down and destroy them. Intimacy can build people up - heal & strengthen them.
