The Orthodox priests have never taken Putin to task for his atrocities, neither did they take the Serbs to task for their atrocities in the Balkans. Whatever may be the evils in American culture, they pale in comparison to the multiple genocides in the USSR and Eastern Europe while the Orthodox Church has stood by (and even colluded with the Communists).
Accusing Mike Pence -- a Christian -- of being "American Taliban" is about as low as anyone can get. All we have seen since Trump vowed to Make America Great Again is daily attacks on him and his associates from the Left-Liberals, the Democrats, the RINOs, the Mainstream Media, and the Communists. And all of it is essentially GARBAGE. Do we need such garbage on a Christian forum?

My grandmother was Orthodox and she prayed for all her children and grandchildren to know Christ as Lord and Saviour.
She also had a Bible story book with amazing pictures she would read to us. She would tell us “you gotta believe in de Jesus.” Even more important she made all her apostate children send her grandchildren to Sunday School. I was in a Baptist Sunday School where I memorized Bible verses, heard stories from the Old and New Testaments, and most important, the gospel!
Most of my Orthodox grandmother’s grandchildren are saved, just one daughter who is not saved in her 80’s. And even one of that daughter’s children is saved! I would say that is pretty evangelical, even if she was not clergy!
I think there are several unofficial inner streams in orthodoxy, many members there seem to know Christ and avoid most of traditional errors, or not making them their priority, at least.
Even some Roman Catholics can live a Christian life, ignoring most of the RCC wrong teachings, but I think its easier to do in orthodoxy.
I think the biggest reason, is that Orthodox are encouraged to read the Bible. Plus, having their own language all those years when the RCC went weird and away from the Bible, the Orthodox lay people could read and check up on what was going on in their own church.
My grandmother never went to school, did not learn to read. But, she would take her Bible to church each Sunday, and read along with the passages. She gradually learned to read the Bible. Because she wanted her grandchildren to be saved, she then learned to read in English, which she never spoke well. She was the original "read it in her language, then read it in English" person. When we learned to read, she would have us read the passages in English. Oh, and my grandmother could never read anything else in either her language, or English - just the Bible!
And she prayed! Whenever she babysat us, she was up at 4 am, on her knees praying for hours. Pleading with God, beseeching God. I didn't know the language, but her sincere desire came through clearly. I have never been a morning person, even as a baby and child. It impressed me so much that her God was that important, that she got up at that early hour and prayed so long. It made me want to investigate why this God she served was so important to her.
In fact, after being in the New Age movement for almost 10 years, and having read all their books, and the books of other religions, I decided to honour my grandmother, and started reading the Bible. I didn't understand it at all! But God used it, to preach the Word in my heart, till he saved me! And then I knew the Bible was all about Jesus! And it made sense!
