This hour-long documentary is a brief but good overview of the church and religious situation in Nazi Germany.
It covers the German Christians (Deutsche Christen), a group of Christians who demanded absolute loyalty to the state and to antisemitism. Hitler initially supported them but later ignored them. They acquired quite a bit of power in the Third Reich, but were resisted by the Confessing Christians, a group of evangelical Protestants who fought with Hitler and the German Christians over antisemitism. Many Confessing Christian clergy ended up in concentration camps.
It also talks about the so-called "Hitler Bible" which Hitler didn't have anything to do with. It was a "Bible" much like the "Jefferson Bible." The authors chopped and changed everything they didn't like. They claimed Jesus was Aryan and removed the Old Testament and all references to Jews. It was a uniquely German Bible.
Much of this is virtually unknown by Christians today. It's probably some of the most important stuff about the Third Reich and Christianity that no one's ever heard of.
