Jesus is my Sabbath rest

Where does it say in God's Word that Jesus is a Sabbath? It only says that Jesus us Lord of the Sabbath day (Matthew 12:8). This is "The Lord's Day" we should rejoice and be glad in it.

There is not one scripture in ALL of God's WORD that says God's 4th commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to worship God on Sunday in it's place.

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

This does NOT alter the fact that like circumcision Sabbath keeping is not obligatory on gentile believers.

Even if our rest in Christ is yet to come, Sabbath keeping is not a commandment for Gentiles. Have you ever seen a single person on this earth who keeps the Sabbath properly. Of course not!

Where does it say in God's Word that Gentile Believers do not have to follow God's Law? Please do not quote Acts 15 which is talking about the Mosaic laws of circumcision as a means of salvation and does not mention God's 10 commandments. That is only making an argument for breaking the rest of God's Law.

I see the Sabbath as a foreshadowing of our total rest in Christ (Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ)..

Col 2 is talking about the Mosaic laws for remission of sin that have their fulfillment in Christ. The New Moons, annual Jewish festivals of v16 (Leviticus 23) are in relation to ceremonial festival sabbaths that are not the 4th commandment and can fall on any day of the week (Special High Sabbaths feasts Wiki).

This is not in reference to God's 4th commandment of Exodus 20:8-11. Please see Leviticus 23:24; 32 and the Col 2 thread linked here showing the Old Testament scriptures linked to the New showing the Mosaic shadow laws for remission of sin and their fulfillment in Jesus.

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten ( Exodus 20:8-11 ) and like any of the ten, if we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness w e are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

I say nobody keeps the Sabbath properly because this is what a former Adventist pastor says on YouTube. What the ex-SDA says is an indication that proper Sabbath keeping is impossible today and therefore is not for Christians because God would never require something impossible from us.

No one knows the heart except God. Who are we to judge another and say no one keeps the 4th commandment? That is like saying no one keeps the any of the commandments.

True we are all sinners, but we have a Savior that saves us from our sins and gives us power to walk on water.

As we have Faith in His Word we walk in the Spirit and are now free to LOVE and LOVE is the fulfilling of God's Law in those who BELIEVE and is why Jesus says "If you love me keep my commandments"

Shall anything be "Impossible with God" With God ALL things are possible in those who BELIEVE. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us as we walk by Faith in His Word.

We must look at this thru His eyes. God created man Last; saving His finest work, and He had done the work Himself in His might and power, not stopping due to lack of strength.. As he rests so we enter into it. This is a sanctified position for us to understand. Satan wants us to doubt God's sovereignty and ability here thus I must say to him,"Indeed He who watches over Israel will never slumber nor sleep." (Psalm 121:4). "Jesus looked at them and said, "with man this is impossible, but with God ALL THINGS are possible." (Matthew 19:26). "And He is not served by human hands, as if He needed anything, but because He Himself gives all men life and breath and EVERYTHING else." (Acts 17:25).

But if it is kept is according to Yah not man, and I also want to say, in ancient times 2 I believe lambs were to be sacrificed every sabbath for the entire nation. A few things about this, it was for all Israyl, not each person, if it were for each person Israyl would have been out of lambs in a week. Also this was the priests job to do, since there are no more levitical priests serving, but now Yahshua after the order of the Messenger of Righteousness, I am confident He, Yahshua, can fulfill or has fulfilled His role properly, again it was never the layman's role to do this, but the priest, I trust Yahshua is properly/has properly acted. The keeping of the Sabbath is to do Yah’s will above all, refrain from our will and our work and do His will and His work. I don’t see how this is impossible. If it is, impossible, the it must be impossible in the same way the keeping do not steal is impossible. I say this meaning I believe it is possible, I am not bragging but trying to build up truth and the ability to follow Yah in truth.

Consider that going to a church meting Friday evening or Saturday morning is not the meaning of entering into rest in Christ.

Hi, LoveGodForever! This is not a matter of judging others, it's a matter of being realistic. In my neighborhood there's an SDA church and I see people coming to Sabbath service on buses. The bus drivers are WORKING for them on a Sabbath is this is wrong according to the law of Moses.

Im not saying they are right or wrong but this seems to be a pharisee intrepratation rather than taking everything Yah says into considersation, the number one goal of the Sabbath is to do Yah;s will/righteousness. For example, helping a human that is disabled on the Sabbath is not "work that transgresses" the Sabbath, but rather in line with it's purpose.

I do not know about your experience. I have never heard of this kind of thing happening before and it not the norm for those that follow God's Word.

Regardless, we should not look to people that may or may not be following God's Word but to the Word of God alone because it is the Word of God alone that is to judge all in the last days and not the people (John 12:46-47)

Believed is "Faith that worked by Love." Love is the fulfilment of the Law.
"A new commandment I give to you, that you Love one another; as I have Loved you: that you also Love one another."

Jesus could not help religious leaders corrupted by pride of achievement see differently, though He expressed concern for them. They said that they could see. "If any man thinks he knows, he does not know as he should." If we think we know we stop learning.

"Pride goes before a fall," The fall to humble us: to stop thinking we are better than others. Sadly it took years of falling to give up pride of achievement. We are slow of heart to believe, no longer to try and prove ourselves to God as if we could fulfil the Law. To wake up and see that the Law was to expose us as lawbreakers and bring us to Christ. The Law is not for the righteous but for sinners, it's to kill us. "You have not hindered me at all... I die daily." Not Just the fourth commandment that we can't fulfil and it's only by the Holy Spirit that we are in the Resurrection. "For we who have believed do enter into rest." "Seated in heavenly places in Christ" Seated refers to rest.

Have you read your own quote correctly ? it does not say the law was abolished but that we should 'serve in newness of spirit and not in the old letter....that is what has changed and not that we are delivered from the law/Commandments.

So much argument and disagreement could be avoided if only people were humble and obedient to God so they could receive His Holy Spirit...and understand what He is saying Acts 5v32; 1Cor2v11,14.
