Anointed
for a mission higher than myself.
No cherubims nor angels
went down to witness it.

No lightning showed up.
The moment the power of God fell
upon this frail and weak vessel.
No voice from heaven called me out.
The only thing I know is that
God anointed me today.

Anointed
to speak life to those who are lost;
to announce God's justice on earth.
Anointed
to fulfill this sacred commission.
Anointed
to herald His Kingdom.
Anointed
to speak Jesus' words to all.

Anointed
to bear the indifference and mocking
of those people who don't want to listen.
Anointed
to carry my own cross upon me;
to walk the extra mile when things get hard.
Anointed
to trust Him when things get rough.
Anointed
to suffer for the sake of all.

Anointed
to bring the Gospel to everyone.
Anointed
to herald the coming of Jesus;
to bring uncomfortable truths.
Anointed
to run this sacred race
where faith is the only warranty I have.
Anointed
to bring the Gospel to all.
