Does our Book say something about this? Are they going to Heaven?
 
Hi, I don't really know the answer, but I will give you my opinion. Killing is against the Bible ( exodus 20:13, genesis 9:6), so it is considered as a sin. On the other hand, if the person is suffering and doctors know for a fact that that person will not recover and will die soon or later, we all can understand why some one would request to be killed. Is it a sin ? I would say yes. Will that person go to hell? I don't think so. Again this is just my way of looking at it.
 
Look at numbers 11:14-16. Moses asked god to kill him because he could no bear the burden. Jesus also had the authority to give up his spirit while on the cross. However I believe asking someone to kill you today is suicide and involving someone else in your wish to die is selfish and wrong. I've seen old people who lost a spouse and lost the will to live die within a week by simplily giving up their spirit without killing themselves. But that is different.
 
God owns the spirit of all flesh (Numbers 16:22, Numbers 27:16, Hebrews 12:23) and i believe God has appointed a time for all to die (Hebrews 9:27, Ecclesiastes 3:1-2) and as we all know there is a law which says "Thou shalt not kill", so i believe those physicians or doctors, who are doing this are sinning, because they are taking the life before Gods time. The taking of the spirit from the body is something done by God in His time. This is God’s business, not ours or "physicians."
 
Are the doctors really sinning? I'm not trying to bash you or say you are wrong but what about the people who are only living because of life support? Those people will die with out life support, life support is something man created, so really arn't we just going against the nature of things by trying to keep them alive? If the doctors take the person off of life support because the person has no chance of ever getting better and they just become a shell of a human arn't they just really allowing the natural orders of things to occur?
 
I'm not really sure what to tell you, but i still believe that, what they are doing is against God. God doesn't tell you to kill people, no matter what. I believe that God Has a power to heel any disease, if we have faith and if we pray, but if it is His will. But this killing clearly shows that, when we are volunteering to kill our self, we are totally believing that God is not God. We don't have any authority on ourselves, because we are God's property, created by His own image.
 
The Bible does say that killing is wrong and of course that includes suicide. Asking someone else to do it is still suicide and I hate to think what that does to the person who is "assisting".

I know it's very hard to see a loved one in pain and to be the one in pain. Yet, God says for us to trust Him; even, and maybe especially, when we are in pain. He may choose to heal, He may not; but either way we are to lean on Him, completely.

I think one of the strongest testimonies I've ever seen was when a Christian person was dying a slow death...and all they could talk about was being healed in Heaven and getting to see Jesus face-to-face. Now THAT'S a testimony!!
 
No i'm studying to be a priest and i've learned that merciful kill is wrong like in the hospital when someone is in a coma or something and he's suffering. and his family request that he dies so he can rest. this is wrong because maybe this person needs this for his salvation .it's not our choice to decide and if i am the one who is suffering and i ask to be killed that's also wrong i think it falls in the same category.

God speaks against it because David had the man who helped King Saul die killed even though Saul was going to die anyway after falling on his sword. Also Saul's armorbearer refused to kill him even though Saul asked him to.

1 Samuel 31
New King James Version (NKJV)
31 Now the Philistines fought against Israel; and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell slain on Mount Gilboa. 2 Then the Philistines followed hard after Saul and his sons. And the Philistines killed Jonathan, Abinadab, and Malchishua, Saul’s sons. 3 The battle became fierce against Saul. The archers hit him, and he was severely wounded by the archers.

4 Then Saul said to his armorbearer, “Draw your sword, and thrust me through with it, lest these uncircumcised men come and thrust me through and abuse me.”

But his armorbearer would not, for he was greatly afraid. Therefore Saul took a sword and fell on it. 5 And when his armorbearer saw that Saul was dead, he also fell on his sword, and died with him. 6 So Saul, his three sons, his armorbearer, and all his men died together that same day.

2 Samuel 1

6 Then the young man who told him said, “As I happened by chance to be on Mount Gilboa, there was Saul, leaning on his spear; and indeed the chariots and horsemen followed hard after him. 7 Now when he looked behind him, he saw me and called to me. And I answered, ‘Here I am.’ 8 And he said to me, ‘Who are you?’ So I answered him, ‘I am an Amalekite.’ 9 He said to me again, ‘Please stand over me and kill me, for anguish has come upon me, but my life still remains in me.’ 10 So I stood over him and killed him, because I was sure that he could not live after he had fallen. And I took the crown that was on his head and the bracelet that was on his arm, and have brought them here to my lord.”

11 Therefore David took hold of his own clothes and tore them, and so did all the men who were with him. 12 And they mourned and wept and fasted until evening for Saul and for Jonathan his son, for the people of the Lord and for the house of Israel, because they had fallen by the sword.

13 Then David said to the young man who told him, “Where are you from?”

And he answered, “I am the son of an alien, an Amalekite.”

14 So David said to him, “How was it you were not afraid to put forth your hand to destroy the Lord’s anointed?” 15 Then David called one of the young men and said, “Go near, and execute him!” And he struck him so that he died. 16 So David said to him, “Your blood is on your own head, for your own mouth has testified against you, saying, ‘I have killed the Lord’s anointed.’”
 
What about if someone is on thier death bed and you give them medication to ease their pain which causes them to slip into a coma and peacefully pass? Is is wrong to ease their pain in that fashion or should you let them suffer? Keep in mind they are on their deathbed. Hours or minutes from death anyway.
