Jesus says not to worry, but I have always had trouble with the sin of worry. The Bible says not to be anxious and yet I have always had trouble with anxiety. So much that I even had to be put on medication for it. The harder I tried to battle these sins, the worse I got. The more Anxious and the more Worried. These days, I find that I'm a lot more calm, with a few exceptions. BTW I got off my anxiety medications in 2011. And I've been able to control it for the most part. But there are still things that really jack me up. And when it happens, my blood pressure rises. I can tell because I often take a reading just to see what is going on.

Social Media, and Forums, often cause me to become anxious. I should be able to control my feelings better then I do. But for some reason social media and forums can really make my blood pressure go up. I find that I get upset easier on those platforms. Since this is the way technology is, and it's the way I need to communicate with people. I need some prayer. I need God to touch me in a special way so that I can control my feelings better.

Philippians 4:6-7

6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

What if you do all of that, and it doesn't work? What if things actually got worse because you did that? That is what happened to me. I actually suffered a nervous breakdown, and had to see a doctor to give me medication, and it took me about a month get back to somewhat "normal". This is where I think some people would argue that sometimes anxiety is caused by a Chemical imbalance in the brain.

Oh, the depth and riches of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out.

I struggle with anxiety as well. You are far from alone. I find movies tend to be triggering for me because of how involved and interested I get in the movie oftentimes. It could be that you may be getting involved in what people are saying online too. Too much social media I heard can increase anxiety and depression. I find it can be easy to focus on negative things people say even if not directed at me but especially if I am offended. I know Paul speaks of thinking on good things in Phillipians 4:8. I'm a work in progress. We all are works in progress as we walk with the Lord.

To be honest, I'm not sure worry is an actual sin though I know some say that. I don't believe having the feeling of anxiety or fear is a sin. I understand panic attacks having gone through them enough times. Sometimes my heart pounds. Often it happens before work. I go to work regardless.

Some advice I would give with anxiety is to not let it dictate what you can do and not do. Do not avoid places just because of anxiety. I don't know if this is your particular battle or not. I tend to want to avoid. Also I heard the more you try to push anxiety feelings away the more it comes. This likely sends a message to be afraid of the feelings of anxiety that the feeling is dangerous. It is not and I believe you can handle anxiety. Accept the feelings of anxiety and go about your day and tasks.
There are natural methods as well. Exercise and healthy diet being some. I have found that getting sunshine has made me feel happier before.

Also have you talked with a doctor yet about your anxiety to see if anything else could be contributing to it?

I think I was talking mainly about online social media generated anxiety. But I have struggled with anxiety in real life too. In real life my stomach feels sick, and sometimes I threw up. But now days it seems that I have another problem causing the throw up, which is only amplified by anxiety. As far as Social Media goes, it seems to raise my blood pressure, which isn't good for me, since I already have high blood pressure that I take medication for. :( What I hate is my anger. I get angry with people online, when I should just let it go... I don't know why words effect me so strongly.

i have talked to a doctor about my online anxiety. He thinks it's pretty normal. lol

Anger is a pretty powerful emotion and it's very normal to have if you get offended. Words can get under my skin too.

You may like this video on anger. It's from an online Pastor. I don't think I watched it all the way but I have seen enough of his content and I believe he is very biblically sound.

That's Pastor Mike Winger. I've listened to many of his videos. I don't remember if saw this one or not.
I also own his worship album.

I don't own his worship music. I have heard a song from him. He is one of my favorite YouTubers

Yes, this very well could be a medical condition that needs to be addressed by a doctor. I will pray that whatever care you need, you will get very soon.

However, it is also a spiritual battle. Having a disruption in your mental state is just the opening that Satan is looking for to torment you. I went through it myself a few years back. It was awful.

Besides constant prayer and repentance, I decided to get aggressive and not let the spirit of anxiety overtake me. I actively rebuked it.

However, depending on the denomination you follow, you may not be allowed to address Satan directly. Still, most of the church leaders I know of will let you petition God directly for immediate intervention, which is what I will pray for tonight.

I think you misunderstood what I meant by social media. I haven't been on Facebook since 2010. I'm not on Instagram or Twitter. What I mean by social media is anything like this...
