Did you ever figure out what's going on with my computer?

Also, I've been wondering if I should finally upgrade to Windows 11, I've stayed on 10 because I like my performance and I want my stuff to work properly lol

Maybe you should upgrade to Windows 11? I think Windows 11 is fine. I'm not having too much trouble with it. All my stuff works fine so far.

Autism isn't what people think it is...just wondering why people think *I* am autistic.
It's true a lot of people who DO have some form of autism play video games as it either calms them down or distracts them -- but moreso ADHD sufferers because being with other people can be just too much, and they need stimulation somehow.

I think with anything, violent games, movies, books with graphics or a lot of action, people won't always understand 'the need for speed' but it's kind of a good way to go somewhere without actually having to go somewhere. I had kids who got frightened of scary pictures in comic books, and others who LOVED scaring others with gruesome tales.

I am one of those people who don't like that sort of thing, I can't handle it. I've been inside an abattoir. I've been inside a jail. I've been inside a mental hospital (visited) I don't like those places. I don't like seeing blood and gore, or people swearing all the time and guns going off etc. I flinch whenever movies show shooting and someone dies or hit someone.

It's nothing to do with what is Christian or biblical or not. Its just a reaction I have that other people have as well.

Maybe there has been scares over what is acceptable or not in games, but then we have censorship and ratings for movies as well, so??
I worked in libraries where we had to decide whether to lend a certain book, movie or game that might have been R rated to someone who is underage. I was more like 'you can't view this' if it was an R16 and above to someone who was actually 13. Doesn't mean they couldn't, but it wouldn't be right for me to let them borrow it, even if they said their parents let them. Am not trying to be holier than thou.

Just saying it like it is. Unfortunately people (not everyone) seem to have a huge problem with how I say things. Where I come from you have to be blunt and direct. No pussyfooting around.

This sounds to me like a Windows 11 driver or scripting issue for sure, those Kernel systems are made of a lot of spaghetti code which is difficult to work on and Windows 11 (like every update frankly) is notorious for causing audio/graphic artificacting. Do you know how to set your CPU affinity? Windows 11 is set to think that your CPU has 15 threads which is usually not the case (usually we have a max of 6 to 8.) I can explain how to change your affinity and also recommend opening any and all games you play as an administrator just to rule those out as well.

I think I might have narrowed it down, I turned off my Bluetooth and everything has been functioning fine.
My computer doesn't come with Bluetooth, I installed a driver into the PCie that allows for Bluetooth and Wifi, but I'm suspicious that it is the reason why everything has been wonky lately because all these problems started when I installed it.

I want to pick up something about Warhammer, my cousins hubby is really into it, has all the kits and assembles them etc, even has an entire home (they live in a duplex, the other half is dedicated my cousins rabbit and her husband uses the spare rooms for his hobby)

It is quite expensive hobby to have and one time he needed to buy or acquire another dining table to do his hobby, he couldn't use their own one they ate from of course! The boys at school (never girls) also were into it and I had some of the OG books in the library, which, I noted hardly got read but they were there. They didn't get read as they were a bit old and out of date as everything in this library was. It was. a job to actually get NEW books in.

Anyway just want to say when I was little my brothers got into trains and they had their own trainsets (Thomas the Tank Engine) electric models, and the entire house would at times be a railway. I never got to have an engine myself I had to make do with a trolley/cart. lol

Thyey don't play it anymore now they have REAL trains to go ride in and trams --my brother just restored a 100 year old tram - and he can drive one, as can my dad. I never did but at one time, my dad wanted me to help sell tickets and be the conductor who clipped the tickets and collected all the money/coins.

I don't know if Thomas the Tank Engine ever got made into a video game. But it would have been half the experience that driving a real one or making a model of a railway would be. You can go on youtube and train enthusiasts would video/film trainrides from the drivers cabin, so you can experience a virtual train ride, and its just like what it is...except without maybe the smoke or literal bumps and the swaying seats etc.

How did I get onto this?! I was writing about Warhammer. But I've discovered Book Nooks! If anybody wants to discuss these I'm game. lol I'm in the middle of making one, but I know a friend who spent 8 hours straight making one and didn't stop till she finished and that is no easy feat because it has something like 200-300 pieces to put together, cut, glue, fold and connect.

That is sort of like those video games where you construct your own rooms but you are actually doing it in miniature, and you have something to show for it apart from the time you spend doing it.

Also it's not lego, its wood and other things, so it's not like minecraft or anything like that. Sorry for literally derailing your thread Jacobfaith.

Its probably not anything you might be interested in....but who knows? You might be? There's a lot of trainspotters/enthusiasts out there. And it's not just a guy thing. Even the makers of Thomas the Tank Engine recognised this and had carriages that were girls like Annie and Clarabel.

Not reeeally - there's so many things it could be and it's been a long time since I had 10 to manually check things myself but I do think it could be a driver or bus issue. It could even be hardware interference but sadly I would need to play around with it to find out 😭

But I can say for sure that you should stay on 10 of you're able - 11 has been nothing but a headache for me.

You would like the Warhammer universe simply because there is so much written within it - hundreds of books by different types of writers so I'm sure you could find one (or a whole series) that fits your particular style!!

I would have loved to get into the Warhammer Tabletop games but like you said it's prohibitively expensive - I think it's about $1000 for a decently sized and painted "fighting army" which to me is a car payment or half of rent so nooo thank you xD. I do play Total War: Warhammer which is the Fantasy setting (think Lord of the Rings rather than Star Wars) and it all happens within the video game. I don't have to use a ruler or paint my figurines, and everything happens in real time. I'd like to show you if you're ever interested 😊

Book Nooks sounds really neat, what's that exactly?

Hope you're having a good day or night sister 🙏

Ohhh that definitely sounds like interference!! Bluetooth and WiFi are notorious because it's a sent signal - if you can try a wired headset instead that would rule it out and you'd know that it's coming from a large amount of signal in a small space.

I used to have a similar issue and got an external "antenna" for my Bluetooth that changed everything for the better. I think you've got this problem on the run Jacob!! 💪

Are you kidding? I'm 33 years old and I still love Thomas the Tank engine lol , I watched those shows when I was a baby, Island of Sodor, Shining Time Station, also the British narrator was Ringo Starr, and the American narrator was George Carlin.

I've gotten way into Warhammer in recent years, there is two of them: Warhammer Fantasy is the original and the Sci Fi one is Warhammer 40,00.
Warhammer Fantasy is very Tolkien-like fantasy but way crazier, and there are some fantasy races that really show how nutty it can be like the Skaven Rat people- who are weak, frail, easy to kill, but what makes them a serious threat is that they are so numerous that they are called the "Vermintide" and the way they fight is never about fairness, basically a race of war criminals that won't flinch at the idea of unethical experimentation and chemical warfare, and thats right, chemical warfare in a fantasy setting lol.

Warhammer 40,000 is... way... WAY CRAZIER, and it's actually not the same universe as Fantasy, but these two kinda borrow from eachother.

First of all, it's called 40,000 because thats the year kinda, roughly 40,000s, the 41st Millennium, and in the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war.

To be a man in such times is to be among untold billions.
It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable.
it is to suffer an eternity of carnage and slaughter.

this is a dark and terrible era where you will find little comfort or hope.
Forget the power of technology and science.
Forget the promise of progress and advancement.
Forget the notion of common humanity or compassion.

The Galaxy is in utter turmoil, with multiple factions including the humanity's "IMPERIUM OF MAN", The Ork Horde, The surviving space elves the Eldar, the reawakening of the Necron machines that are soulless and believe the galaxy is rightfully theirs, the galactic scale Tyrnid swarm that eats and consumes all life and are so numerous that a part of their forces can blot out the sun from a planet, and the traitors to the Imperuim of Man- the Chaos factions.

My favorite factions are the Adeptus Astartes "Space Marines", the Orks because they're awesome and hilarious and the Astra Militarum "Imperial Guard" is starting to grow on me.

It doesn't seem to answer why a Bluetooth card or process would slow down and make my whole computer stutter.

Because the Bluetooth signal is being physically picked up by the hardware - your video card/sound card etc could be physically too close and being literally inundated with the signal from the Bluetooth - just conjecture but this is a very common problem with wifi/Bluetooth. Especially third party since they don't have a built in Faraday cage

I'm scared, very scared. Windows 11. Trying to hold out for Windows 12, but my pc is 6 years old. Was once considering Lenux, but don't want to spend my days, trying to figure out, what works, and what doesn't.

And that's why my computer never, ever, ever gets online.

They'll fix it soon. Windows is always having upgrade disasters. Give it a couple days, they'll hash it out.

And about Linux - with gaming specifically, you are so right. Trying to figure out what works may take up more time than actually playing games.

If the programs you use still work in Windows 10 you should keep Windows 10 then. I had to upgrade because my programs were upgrading to Windows 11.

Uprade??

Has anyone downgraded or degraded their computer? Aren't video games different to computer games.

Pairing devices can be a challenge with bluetooth but if its apple devices with apple its very quick to airdrop.

Wifi depends on how good the signal is too and maybe the number of devices you are using? At least you no longer on dialup and watching something 'buffering'.

Maybe.... something is wrong with your satellite, or you just need to turn it off and on again.
I blame the moon.

Thomas the Tank Engine deserves his own thread!

Not sure about Warhammer, where are the women in that one? Staying at home, being mums? It's like LOTR or the Hobbit, no gals. Or the Smurfs. How ever do they reproduce??

Book Nooks are their own niche miniature book ends for Book Lovers. There are a lot more of us than the Book Haters.
