Was wondering if any other young guys that struggle with same sex attraction are on this website. It's nice to chat with someone who understands sometimes. Just a shout out!

you won't find many here but I have known many ppl attracted to the same sex and I have compassion and understanding for their situation. I think some ppl are simply born with such desires but its not the desire that makes us sin its acting upon it and trust me we will stumble sometimes and yes its very hard for sure but if you have God and friends to encourage you the you can make it:)

Does struggle mean you desire to change, or just can't find anyone to share with?

I heard a clinical psychologist say 95% of his gay patients admitted to being sexually abused as a child. I have a gay sister. She was molested as a child. Something to think about. I don't think anyone is born gay. God would not create something in a person that he considers to be an abomination. The same way I don't think God creates people to be pedophiles. Same sex attraction is something demonic. It has to do with abuse. It is not normal.

Hi Krow, I am a girl and heterosexual therefore I do not know anything about your situation. However I would like to say that I think it is quite brave to be able to acknowledge your struggles, many christians are so ashamed of their sins that they would rather hide. I really don't have anything to say other than that I would hope that you wouldn't loose faith in God and His love for all of us based on people who do not understand you and are quick to judge things that they are scared of. I am sure that my opinion is not a big thing but I believe that God is love and that he wants his children to show that love to others, and many times we fail in that, but that is in no way an accurate representation of the Lord. I am sorry for your struggles and wish I could offer actual help. :) God Bless.

ummmm its hardly true, i struggle with same-sex attractions and hey, I was NEVER abused, I had a great upbringing, yes, I partly believe my desires stem for a desire to be accepted by guys as friends as all my friends were girls, but thats not abuse. I don't suggest homosexuality in any form is acceptable, however to simply to say to someone "Stop desiring it because its an abomination" is also an abomination!

If you suffered this yourself you would understand the mental and sometimes physical torment, of feeling weird, abominable, disgusting, broken and almost unfixable, I have "tried" to be heterosexual, it doesn't seem to work, I have prayed and prayed for God to change me, He hasn't, so what do I do? I live my life in total celibacy before God because in my opinion theres only two sexualities in this world, marital sexuality between man and woman, or holy celibacy before God. The concept of dating didn't exist in biblical times, because things such as kissing were deemed sexual, intimate and to remain between a married couple, you just simply mrried the woman.

Brother we humans are prone to error and temptation. What I understand that you have these thoughts about same sex attraction. But I want to quote you from bible and my other friends on this community can correct me.

Leviticus 20:13

13 “If a man practices homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman, both men have committed a detestable act. They must both be put to death, for they are guilty of a capital offense.
So this act is a trap from satan to disgrace you in front of your Lord. Bring you low and low.

I would say hold on your thoughts as thoughts can lead to actions and satan is a whisperer, an accursed one.

seek the bounty and happiness for Lord.

You do know that 27 is already considered pretty old by people like us, dont you? ;)

I would say you are somewhat on track, with the exception of the statement that this is caused by abuse. Sometimes, to be sure, but not always.

At any rate, I also do not believe the cause is genetic (or, "born with it"), but rather I feel it is often a case of faulty learning in the formative years. Of course an altering traumatic incident is also right up there at the top of the list of reasons.

I'm not a dude, but I struggled with the same problem. I kept it to myself. I struggled so much with it and it tormented me. Now I barely have those thoughts, and am attrac

Yeah stay celibate if you can it's better, speaking from experience here as it makes the struggle intensify and grow worse down the road. But we need to remember abuse is multifaceted. It's not only physical striking. I think while I had a good upbringing as well and couldn't have had any better parents than I did that perhaps, without realizing it, there was some other form of abuse besides physical with me, perhaps emotional that was unintended which didn't help things when I think about it in retrospect. Like I know with me when I was young I did not understand my father really well, and he was one of those kind of men that doesn't like to talk to just talk, so he would sometimes get mad and harsh with me. I understood him better later in life but we always miscommunicated about everything growing up. I also literally feared his wrath, therefore if I wanted to talk about anything I would usually go to my mother. He was an enigma until I came to understand his temperaments better, and sadly he passed away like two years ago and I miss him. Anyways, I was just sharing that cuz I wanted you to think deeper about your past. Sometimes its not apparent. They never physically molested me or striked me beyond spanking as most parents do but I think primarily with dad unintended emotional abuse probably did occur.

God and God's Word, Jesus, never asked anyone why they sinned (as if it mattered.)(we can't ever get away with it by blaming someone else; nor by 'confessing' to someone else without repenting.)

GOD'S WORD always says repent. turn to GOD through JESUS(only; NEVER through mariology or any such idolatry!)

turn from sin totally, completely, once for all, and every day as necessary as temptations never may stop.

repent. \

no matter what the rcc priest tells you, it is never okay to continue in sin thinking it will be forgiven later.
(as many here are told during their abomination participation in the heresy, which is and always has been rampantly and deeply in sin with no repentance)

Krow, I've been reading a book on singleness lately for my own personal growth. Tonight I was reading through a chapter addressing homosexuality and the end of the chapter referenced True Freedom Trust. It's a UK-based website that is dedicated to helping those of faith who struggle with same-sex attraction. It's a secure website where your identity is safe. It offers support, forums, resources, etc. I think this site would help with your question of seeking someone who understands.
