Any songwriters like me on this forum?

Hi everybody,

Roy Nel of Soul Harmonies here! I like to write piano solos - and sometimes full orchestral numbers - with Christian, humorous and romantic lyrics. I play the piano, keyboard and organ; is there anybody here who plays the piano or some other musical instrument?

Hello Commodoredude,

I have been writing songs for awhile, it takes me forever, but they come. Recently recorded a song that recorded drums, guitar, bass, and vocals. It was rough draft/experiment, but it was awesome doing it all. Such a beginner on drums, but they are so fun.

What styles do you like? Writing style?

I write punk rock songs, sometimes folk type songs. Recently found a style that will like to craft, will probably write an album next year.

I write music, but don't play instruments. Had a few years of accompaniment piano classes in musical school, but it would be wrong to make any claims that I can play piano, lol. I compose by ear. Most of my music is fusion. Kind of been losing interest for music, seems to wane as I'm getting older. The only thing I still like hearing or dabbling in or that holds my attention is orchestral and classical, really.

It's good to hear you write music. Don't feel too bad that you don't play an instrument. I do! Why don't you send me some of your sheet music and I'll have a go at playing it? Do you have a music notation package, or how do you record the music you write? Do you write everything down by hand?

PS You're the only person who knows about this so far (apart from God, that is): I'm really quite down this morning actually, because my lonely bachelor mind started wandering, and I started looking for matchmaker services on the Nextdoor classifieds website. I noticed them last night as I was advertising my new help desk support business, and thought I'd look around to see if I can meet a nice Christian lady in my area here. Didn't get very far at all. But I thought I'd VOWED to stay away from all dating websites! So I'm being rather hard on myself. I'm going to send this e-mail and then put my laptop PC off. If you want to reply, I'll pick it up on my smartphone. I think I need to read a Plan on my Youversion Bible app.......

I don't have anything in notation form, that's long ago when I went to music school... I usually write things down by humming ideas into sound recorder lol, and then I make the song later in FL Studio.

Have faith about finding your match. Walk by faith. God will provide a suitable partner for you when the time is right. The right godly individual will most likely appear when you least expect it (that's how it was for me in fact it was after I went out of a toxic relationship and thought I'd likely never marry). Treading too quickly and committing to the wrong person can end in things a lot worse than a broken heart. Ask Johnny Depp who is rich and influential, he barely lucked out to tape Amber and managed to prove she was a psychotic liar and cleared his name... he almost lost his livelihood and career to a liar and she wasn't even his wife. Something to ponder about while God is preparing you to meet the right person. I think you're a smart dude, and with God's help you will be able to keep things in His perspective... Listening to the music now.

Nice user name! I LIKE it Now, can you LIKE to please tell me very much what your hobbies are? I would LIKE that very much. And I would LIKE to have daily contact with you, if you would like to have daily contact with me as well. If you posted on the music forum, but are not a songwriter, then at least you appreciate good music. Who are your favorite Christian artists?

Hi! I play guitar. I started piano awhile back but im just not cut out for it lol! I have written some songs, but only when God gives them to me. I tried it on my own...disaster! 😄
