Anybody struggling to renew faith with God?

I am.

I grew up in a Catholic household. I've always believed in God. When I moved out of my parents house, I lost alot of faith but now I want to restore/renew it. Any suggestions? I do pray at least once a day and read the bible when I get a chance, but I need more. I feel like something is missing, or maybe its not my time to be revived. Whatever the case may be, I'm a lost Christian looking for advice, inspiration, help, and new friends:]
 
I suggest going to church lol that's what engaged it for me. As for issues of faith I still sit down and talk to Father now and then :)
 
This may be helpful to you as well:

  • To stop sinning you must have faith in Psalms (119:10-11) That you may fulfill Christ command to (John 8:11), (John 5:14). When you believe in your heart that this is possible, this is when the sanctification process starts and you begin to (1John 3:3) and (1John 2:6) so that you can (Matthew 5:48). Your flesh will fight you and you will suffer in the flesh, but bear the suffering of your cross until (1Peter 5:10) is achieved and you praise God because of it.

  • If you sin along the way, you will hate it as found in (Romans 7:15) but meditate with ferverent prayer on (Hebrews12:11-13) because your hate for it is Gods chastisement through his Spirit. But you must continue to follow through because (Hebrews 12:6-8)...All this is done so (Hebrews 12:10) can be the end result. General overview of the sanctification process. If you desire, we could speak via skype or mobile to mobile. Just let me know & may God's will be done.

 
I have been to a few different churches but none of them feel like home. As far as praying and talking with the Lord I do that more than before
 
Do what I did, I window shopped for the right church lol
 
Get hold of a book of devotional scriptures, or a self-help christian book. They work well for me. I have books by Joel Osteen and Joyce Meyer. You say you are catholic, so am I. I get a lot of inspiration from reading about the lives of the saints. Marypages.com has a really good list of wonderfullly presented short stories about many saints. Yes, I know I'm probably an oddball for being catholic and liking evangelical teachings too. As long as its in sync with the scriptures, I consider it all good! :)
 
"Window shopping" for a church can be a bit challenging. I like going to a churches website and see what the church is like based on what they provide on their website. The only problem is not many churches have a website:(

I enjoy reading books by cloud and Townsend. Every now and then I check out their mini videos on their website.
 
Well I recommend a book called "Rediscovering Catholicism" by Matthew Kelly I think you can a free copy from their website...I got a free copy form Father Garcia at my local parish

That is where I had lately..... but I grew-up in born again christian family........

Having that delimma, it is all up to us to decide......the decision is comes from us......I just decided to go back to HIM by attending a worship fellowship every sunday and joining with young adults in church every wednesday. that helps a lot.
 
Find a parish that offers up some Eucharistic adoration. One thing that engaged me was spending time with Our Lord by myself. I didn't worry about doing the right things during liturgy, or anything else. I could just be there with Him.

I stopped going to Church a long time ago - but my Faith in YHVH - (God) - has only gotten stronger!

If you are a new believer then you should go to church. But if you are looking for a deep relationship with YHVH, then you should go directly to Him. YHVH loves you. He sent His only Son to die in our place so that we could be rejoined with Him.

We are facing a reality here that is masked by our flesh. We are so stupid sometimes to believe only in what we can see. Mathmatically we have proven the multidimensionality of our universe. The big realm of the stars and planets can only be unified with the small world of atoms and molecules if multiple dimensions exist. God Himself is a multidimensional being - so we must not let ourselves be blinded by flesh.

I am a Messianic Hebrew - this means that I believe in YHVH the one and only God of the Universe, I believe in Yahoshua - (Jesus) - His son. I believe that those of us who believe in Yahoshua are grafted into the heritidge of Abraham and we therefore become His family. Just as Abraham was willing to offer Issac to YHVH, so YHVH offered Yahoshua to pay the debt of sin for ALL mankind. All we have to do is believe Him.

It says that Abraham's Faith was counted as righteousness. That is what Salvation is all about.
