I have schizophrenia it sucks. I’m worried I will never get married as I can’t even work. Single for last 17 years but I have my Mom who keeps me happy. I don’t think I would be able to part from my Mom anyways if someone were to come along. I also feel useless for society but I’m just so very tired on my schizophrenia meds

Not knowing much about schizophrenia or the meds used to treat it, why do you say you can't work? Even if you can't do formal for pay employment, could you do some volunteer work at church or another community organization? What about at home gig work over the internet?Feeling like we're contributing something is important for our overall well-being so even if it's just doing work around the house like cleaning and cooking dinner that might help give some purpose and structure to your days. That's the best thoughts I have.

My brother has it too. And indeed, it doth stink mightily.

*sigh

Being tired of the meds is part of it. Like, I don't think there is a single schizophrenic who is NOT tired of the meds. But the alternative, not taking them, usually winds up with somebody getting hurt.

When I wake up in the morning I am awake for an hour and a half and I already have to go back to bed too tired but I pray for people on prayer request.com I want more energy so badly but it says those who wait on the Lord renew their strength

r u eating correctly, being off balance can be the result of a poor diet. take in more omega-3 fatty acids, b vitamins & amino acids. & stop worrying, that may constantly feed the issue.

How about doing peer support, are you in a group? It's sort of work, otherwise just do your best to look after yourself daily eg enough nutrition, good meals, go for walks, keep up with hygiene - self-care is not selfish.

Marriage is not for everyone I don't think it's all that. Having friends who you can turn to for support and who accept you is more important. You can do creative things, just do them at your own pace.

I'd also maybe see the doctor prescribing those meds about the tiredness, maybe the dosage can be adjusted. You need to tell them if it's making you that tired.

I'm so sorry you are dealing with that, schizophrenia is a very debilitating and misunderstood disease.

Can you focus on the things you can control right now? Like, the smoking is probably robbing your energy, could you go for walks instead? The sunlight and exercise should give you more energy.

Your primary ministry is right there at your home.... what can you do to make your moms life better or easier? She sounds like a lovely lady, and I'm sure your illness is hard on her too. Anything you can do to help out would be a blessing!

Like others have said, taking steps towards finding purpose, a better relationship with Jesus, and better health in general are the things you can control right now.... so focus on those and see what else comes along. I will be praying for you! 🙏
