Appointed Time. This word intrigued me, disturbed and fascinated me. It had been bothering my mind with its meaning, purpose, inevitability, and presence in every lives of people in this world.
Appointed Time.
Fixed and mysterious, its vagueness made me afraid, fear of its unexpected visitation.
Seldom do I think about it but can’t entirely erase it in my mind.
God gave each on of us a certain length of time by which the spending depended on how we use value it, and after which we are cut off from this world. The demands of life and survival take our attention off this very purpose why we are here in the first place.
Seasons, how it change in every cycle of its appointed time. When green fades into brown and brown dissolves into white, and white comes into green again; it continues on and on. Things may seem different as it used to be yet it is still what it is. Seasons of our life turn on its cycles guided by God; it also has its appointed time. Sun, rain, stars and moon, all in its courses turn. Youth come with its freshness and vibrancy, vivacity, strength and beauty. Middle age, like a bell, rings in its most stealth way, unperturbed by denials and demands. Old age, slowly and consistently, addresses us that our pilgrimage from the visible to the eternal is as real as the tangibles our senses perceived it to be.
Ec 3:1 ¶ To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.
