Are all the spiritual gifts still active today?

Now to respond to your post, you are " Making the Word of God of none effect through your traditions, ..." I think it interesting that Jesus didn't say that they were lying, but said that they " practiced ". I believe that they did, in fact, do what they claimed, in His Name, but out of iniquitous hearts. maybe trying to share in God's glory or for filthy lucre or whatever would take away from giving God ALL the glory. Luke 9: 49-50 " And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in Thy Name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us. And Jesus said unto him, FORBID HIM NOT: for he that is not against us is for us." This unnamed man was not an Apostle, as far as the scripture reveals, yet he was casting out devils in Jesus' Name. God is no respecter of persons and the same power still resides in that Name today, Jesus, the same yesterday, today and forever. This man had faith in the authority of that Name, do you? " What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretense, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice." Philippians 1:18

Maybe I'm answering these posts wrongly but from what I have read of your posts we are mainly in agreement. I finding that I may be answering those who are posting responding to you. Sorry for the mix-up, I'll figure it out somehow............ I hope :-))

I see what you're saying; however, to me it doesn't matter if they were really performing miracles or not. The point of Jesus' teaching is they thought they were doing wonderful things in His name but they were deceiving themselves.

I don't rejoice in false teaching or preaching. If someone preaches the truth however, but from some selfish motive, God knows their heart and he will deal with them. In that case the true gospel has still gone out.

I believe that if you preach or teach or do any other kingdom work ( including operating in the gifts of healing ), for any other reason than to glorify Christ, you're preaching or teaching in pretense.
