I would be more than a little skeptical of anyone who has claimed to have met or talked to an angel.

From the very few seemingly legitimate stories I've heard others tell about possible interactions with angels (they weren't 100% convinced themselves, but could come up with no other explanation for their experience) it would seem that angels are sent here to open our eyes to something we're missing or to teach us a message from God in a way that will stick with us permanently.
However, it is very important to note that we must test what they teach against the Scripture. Demons were angels, once, and more than one religion bases it's "scripture" on a message from an angel. These are false religions, and those were very possibly demons disguised as angels from God.

I am 100% convinced, and he looked like a 70 year-old derelict Black man, driving a beat-up, rusty old Oldsmobile on a lonely South Florida highway through the middle of the Everglades. He stopped and gave me a lug wrench of the odd size that he shouldn't have been carrying.
Both accounts are found in scripture....Gabriel was sent to Daniel to help him understand and tell Daniel he was greatly loved.....then you have the angels sent to Sodom and Gomorrah to burn 4 of the 5 cities of the plain to the ground......
I personally believe it is possible because God has used them throughout the history of the bible in certain circumstances.....and who really can say that it has not happened to one who has had experiences that cannot be explained......just saying.
