Tell me then who started the reformation if you know so much? Surely Martin Luther wasn't the only one was he? Since you're talking down on Lutherans and Baptists.
read what yer like ill post back later ,, when i have more time, the bible was torn apart, bits by bit, no getting away from that, (in my eyes that came from the martyn luther reformation,

Quickfire,Martin Luther caused division because of the false and unbiblical practices of the catholic church. The Catholic Church began charging money for novenas, and charging money to get souls out of Purgatory, when there's no such thing as a Purgatory in the Bible. The Roman pope began to sell "indulgences" to rich individuals, offering positions in the church in exchange for properties, gold and land. The Roman catholic church began acquiring properties from the people in exchange for spiritual favors. The Roman catholic church started to weigh the goods that she can get from the people and made salvation an expensive "commodity". They turned religion into a big business and were teaching creeds and dogmas out of man's ideas instead of the pure Bible. They taught that people can only be saved by "works" and "obedience" to the tenets of the Catholic church, rather than by believing by faith in the Word.God showed Martin luther that 'the just shall live by faith' and that people should not have to pay for salvation. It was the catholic church that was greedy not Martin Luther.
i know the saying when the bell rings the sole springs, ,,, yup who knows what that was sick,, but check this out what if the prays are real, like what if your blessed mum was in a place of rest in one of the realms of heaven,

what if the saints could here your prays about that,, like please forgive my mother father, you know what im sayin ,,
there are prayers for the living and the dead to yes, but no longer in the sense you mean, but whats worse that or tearing the bible up to bits

I was walking up at St. Patrick Catholic church early this morning, and I saw they have the ten commandments written on stone. I went up and read each one. I found out they took out the second commandant and as the tenth they used covet twice.

IX thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife

X thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's possessions

The 10 commandments are listed twice in scripture and they are not numbered.

Really at the end of the day the only question we really need to ask is what am I doing for the Lord, understanding scripture that we are reading, learning for ourselves, this way allowing us to grow in the Word and in the Lord. When we sit and ponder about other's doesn't it take away from us looking at ourselves?

Protestants split the first command into two different commands. The first command is against idolatry.

If you believe what that church had, your actually splitting the 9 commandant into twos.

What does the the first two commandments say?
"You shall not have no other gods before me"
"You shall not make for yourself an idol"

Friend, those are completely two different commands, with a similar meaning. Thus it's not one, but two commandments from the 10.

That commandment is a single command, don't put anything before God. Protestants split the commandment.

Note that the commandments are not numbered in scripture.

Protestants want to make sculptors out to be sinners.

Making an idol or a "graven image" [as some translation put it] and having other "gods" isn't really the same. They are close. A person who believes in a false deity is having another god. Making a given image of that god or of a god is making an idol.

If you believe those two commandments are one. Please list the 10 commandments [don't use covet twice because remember that's splitting]…

Here's the list:

Catechism of the Catholic Church - The Ten Commandments

Do you believe it is a violation of the 10 Commandments be a sculptor?

Well I can honestly tell you how hypocritical your statement against me is now. This list says covet twice, one for your neighbor's wife and another for your neighbor's possessions. And then you're telling me having another god and making an graven image is the same thing and that we protestants changed it to two.......

Reality is not hypocritical. You still didn't answer my question. Do you believe that a sculptor is sinning according to the 10 commandments, OR, do you agree with the Catholic Church that what God was commanding was that he alone be worshiped?

Ah an answer you want? The stone isn't sinning but those who distort and take apart the truth is. Look it can be referred to as one meaning, but as far as I know, they are two different commands. Which is: Don't make and have other gods.

That is merely semantics. Whether you count it as one or two is irrelevant. What matters is the meaning.

You can make the same point about lust for sex and desire for material goods. They are not the same thing.

Look the meaning is important but if it's written the way it's written, leave it alone! What you're saying is like saying let's delete the gospels and writing a book with the conclusion of what was taught as the theme of Jesus's life.
