We are fast approaching, if not already in, a time in our nation when being a Christian will be considered synonymous with being a bigot.

During this struggle, how do Christians find the balance between tolerance and standing firm in their faith?

Tolerance by definition includes this: disagreement or discomfort.

Without such tension, tolerance cannot exist, only one of two options:

A. A harmonious blending.

B. The risk of being called a bigot for believing one thing is more worthy than another.

In this way we live in an age that is dispensing of the notion of tolerance.

Now, are some Christians bigots in the classic sense of the word? Indeed. Bigots are everywhere. You cannot find a crowd without a bigot.

Ultimately, Christians are here to serve God and minister to their fellow man. Ministry requires love. Without love there is no real service to God. Without recognition of God, there is sin.

This is when real bigotry raises its ugly head, and it is more prevalent when people have their backs to the wall and fear for the future. We are experiencing that now.

In short, while Christians are not intrinsically bigoted, they are being bated into becoming actual bigots. Rather like how law-abiding citizens will slowly but surely be bated into being criminals barring a sociopolitical upheaval.
