Are the Jews forgiven their sins when they ask?

Jews are not saved, according to the Bible.

If they were, why would the apostles spend so much time evangelizing them? Waste of time, let them stay with their current system then??

So yes, Jews are forgiven of their sins BUT only if they go through Christ.
 
Why can't ask God to forgiven our sins.
I don't quite understand. Do Jews think only Jews can be saved?

Jews dont believe in salvation in general.

There is no "hell" like Christians or muslims have hell. There is no "heaven" either.

Its more like, a world to come in which the Jews participate (and the righteous gentiles as well).

Their "hell" doctrine is like, depends on who you ask, its not as clear cut as for Christians and muslims.
 
One Scripture that sticks out to me:

John 8:24 - I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

Pretty sure Jesus is saying that anyone wishing to receive eternal life MUST BELIEVE IN HIM.

Jews were saved in sleep before Christ lived in the flesh. They were saved in sleep through the blood of Christ shed for them at the time Adam and Eve disobeyed. They repented of sin and used the blood of animals as a symbol of Christ, even though they had little understanding of Christ, it was a mystery to them.

The Lord ordered them to do that, and told them that He hated the blood of animals if they were shed as the heathen did, to feed their gods. God ordered them to shed the blood of animals as blood He shed on the altar, and we know that blood God shed on the altar was Christ's blood.

Those saints preserved in sleep woke and walked the streets of Jerusalem when Christ's earthly body died and His spirit lived at the cross.

Those who loved the Lord and asked forgiveness were saved in sleep before Christ, the question now is how God treats their repentance and asking forgiveness now they think the Messiah is yet to come?

The question is answered by reading the new testament.

Where the apostles are preaching to them. REPENT AND BELIEVE.

This is the answer. They believe in a Messiah. They have faith in that God forgives. They believe in repentance. But they do not believe that the flesh and blood Jesus was the true Messiah. Is that counted as unbelief? That flesh and blood man contained God, and was the first fruits of man's resurrection. Believing and having faith in Him is having faith in God's ability to give eternal life. It is important. How important?

Of course.

Rom 11:20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off , and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
Rom 11:21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
Rom 11:22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
Rom 11:23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief , shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.

Yes it is important. And yes it is counted as unbelief.
Looks like I have to provide the verses here:


1Jn_2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
1Jn_4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
2Jn_1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

Basically, both jews and muslims are in the same boat of antichristness. BOTH deny Jesus is the son of God. Muslims even say it daily in their prayers.

Jews are forgiven of their sins through their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Just like everyone else.

No faith in the Lord Jesus? No forgiveness of sin.


The Lord Jesus was who all of their animal sacrificing was pointing to. Atonement and forgiveness of sin is only in Christ.

Repentance to the Jewish mind is much more involved than repentance in the Christian church. It is a spiritual process. Their ultimate goal of all repentance is to change one's spiritual and mental outlook. Since a sinner has opposed God's will, she/he must submit to God's authority and lead new moral life following the precepts of Judaism.

People do not become Christians until faith in Jesus and thereby receive the new birth, whether Jew or Gentile.

Romans 11 says they will be saved, same as we all are. Blinded, for a time. Then he will take their sins away.

No one is part of Israel without Christ. Remember that those who don't have Christ get their branches removed? Those are not going to be saved UNLESS they accept Christ and stop being in unbelief:

Rom_11:23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.

Only Christians will be saved.

Jews will be saved, same as we all are. They are blinded for a time. So I assume we're saying the same thing?

Nope. I'm saying non-Christians will not be saved and that comes from the bible. Were the Pharisees in Jesus' day saved when they died?
